Six Fan Fics - Prologue. Prologue

This assignment was to write six, factually accurate, fan fictions of between 1500 and 2000 words each. Each story is based on a different single scene taken from one of three literary works None of the original details mentioned in the original works, by the original authors, have been changed or altered in any way. Within these six stories all recognised characters, places, and plot elements belong to the original authors; everything else contained within them is mine.

For this assignment, I chose:

Jules Verne’s “Around the World in Eighty Days”

Stephen King’s “It”

and

Bill W’s “The Castaway Hotel: Grand Reopening”

An explanation of the source for each story follows.

Story one: “The Unfortunate Dismissal of James Forster” is from “Around the World in Eighty Days” by Jules Verne, and is based on the scene of the arrival of Jean Passepartout

Story two: “The Kitchener Ironworks Disaster” is from “It” by Stephen King, and is based on the scene recalling the disaster of the Easter egg hunt

Story three: “Beverly’s Secret is Exposed” is from “It” by Stephen King, and is based on the scene where Alvin Marsh confronts his daughter over his earlier observation of her playing with a group of boys

Story four: “The Lament of Eleanor Calloway” is from “The Castaway Hotel” by Bill W and is based on the ghost story “The Lady of the Lake”. I would like to thank Bill W for granting me permission to use this ghost story from his work.

Story five: “Mine Eyes Have Seen The Glory Of The Burning Of The School” is from “The Castaway Hotel” by Bill W and is based on the schoolhouse ghost story. I would like to thank Bill W for granting me permission to use this ghost story from his work.

Story six: “The Great Bank Robbery” is from “Around the World in Eighty Days” and is based on the scene at the Reform Club with Phileas Fogg and his friends discussing the robbery that occurred three days prior.
