Poems of K - 4. Dusk

He buries his toes

in the cool, soft sand beneath him

while the crimson sky, splashed with

hints of sunset orange

as she starts to hide behind the horizon

slowly, one ray at a time

He stands up and starts strolling

along the coast, feeling the gentle caress

of the waves, calming

smelling the salty breeze

stroking his skin, charming

He picks up a conch, half-hidden and buried in the sand

It whispers him tales, tales as old as time

tales of the ocean, of her treasures

tales of her protectors

tales of men braving the seven seas for those treasures

enchanting

He stops and stares at the palm trees

pleasantly swaying at him, waving their goodbyes

as the stars are coming out to play

with the clouds, with the moon, with the tides

while they invite him to join, but he knows better

For he is only human

and it is time to go home.
