The Promise - 1. The Promise

Rate and review pls,i'm hoping for suggestions on ways to improve my writing.

Will you cry like you did that night?
You said ‘I love you’
Never leave me.

Be by my side, please.
Sing me the swan as we walk.
The storm rages ahead for me.

You fought for me,
You broke their bones when they proclaimed me,
Hold my hand now, stop fighting.

We are both so the same,
You look at me and see yourself,
Serenade me with care like you did before.

You’re not afraid to touch me,
I am so old now,
Will you still give me the world?

I love that song, sing it again,
Continue your story,
You were at the part about me.

You hold me like a baby still,
don’t worry I am grown now,
When I come back will you still recognize me?

The run will be long and far
But you’ll be there wont you?
To hold my hand again?

Remember me please,
I cannot forget,
But the rain will at least hide my tears.

Perhaps the sun will rise again,
Smile for us like it did on the isle,
What a memory!

Do not wait too long though,
The sun can shine for only so long,
Soon the moon must take hold.

I’m not good with promises you know.
I have broken many,
My fault I suppose.

But that isnt you right?
You keep them don’t you?
Like that night you cried.

I promise you said,
To love, to hold,
To kiss, to hug.

To keep safe, to die for,
To accept, to be happy for,
To remember, to cherish.

You promised a world’s worth,
I love it,
Give me my world now.

You owe me,
And I you,
I will make good this promise.

Don’t worry,
You’ll see,
Before long you’ll have my world and I yours.

I guarantee,
I swear,
I promise.

Don’t cry,
I’ll be back,
It’s still me, dad.

Don’t you trust me?
I trust you.
You always know what to do.

I am like you,
don’t you see?
It’s different yes, but still the same, no?

Punch me and play,
Like we did on the isle,
Remember that isle?

That’s still me,
That boy in the picture,
Nothing has changed.

‘I love you’ you said,
Then you kissed me,
I still remember.

What was that promise again?
Forever? Oh yes!
Now I see.

Thanks dad!
I knew that you’d be here.
Gosh what a trip.

Are you ready now?
I’ve much to tell you.
It’s okay though, its still me.

I am you, you are me,
I can see it, our eyes connect.
Here is my world now.

Isn’t it beautiful.
Please say yes.
Remember the promise, I haven’t.
