When the world falls apart... - 1. When the world falls apart...

How much would it hurt,
To say goodbye.
Just jump out the window,
see if you could fly.

The world cannot see,
How you crumble in pain.
Every morning you wake,
Just to be hurt again.

You look in the mirror,
but hate what you see.
You write on your arm,
create a red Sea.

Your parents can't stand,
To look at your face.
Curse your name,
drive you from this place.

Screaming at you,
“Abomination” they yell,
with hate filled eyes
they damn you to Hell.

Crying now, as you lay down to die,
a bottle of pills, empty by your side.
Closing your eyes, you pray the Lord to forgive,
The pain was too much, you no more could live.

Floating now above your bed,
your time's almost up, the final rest for your head.
If only the world had noticed your pain,
heard the cries for help when you opened a vein.

In a hospital now,
your parents off to the side,
the doctor shakes his head
and they broke down and cried.

“What have we done”
they cried to the sky,
“How could we force,
Our son to die?”

“We pushed him to this,
And what have we to show?
Just sorrow and sadness,
if only he could know.”

“We wish we could take back,
The things that we said,
We are so sorry, our son,
but this world you have fled.”

“Lord have mercy,
we send our son to you.
If only we had seen,
If only we knew.”

“Love one another” that's all we must know,
We forgot that somewhere, and what's left to show?
An empty house, so quiet without you,
we wish you were here, the mood is so blue.

We stand here today,
in the wind and the rain,
to say one last good bye,
in rest you are lain.

“Find peace, our son,
In the Lord's warm embrace,
no more sorrow or tears,
no more pain must you face.”

They showed us the scars,
that riddled your arm,
It was a cry for help,
a silent alarm.

We couldn't see,
we were so blind,
now we've nothing to show,
you've left the world behind

Forgive us, our son,
we knew not what we did,
the pain that we caused
with the things that we said.

It's quiet now,
everyone else has gone.
We stand at your graveside,
we know not how long.

“I'm here Mom and Dad,
With the Lord up above,
No more sorrow or sadness,
I'm filled with Joy and Love.”

“Try not to be sad,
I forgive you it all,
it's not your fault,
remember me and stand tall.”

“I'm sorry I've left you,
with this sorrow you hold,
I'm in a better place,
remember that when you fold.”

“One day we will walk,
together up above,
until that day
show the world your love.”

I cannot imagine the pain that brought forth this poem from within your heart and soul. But from what I have seen of you in chat and in words, I feel today you are stronger for it and so am I at your sharing. Thank you!

This poem... made me cry... *Still wiping tears away* I thank you very, very much for sharing this poem with us. It has so much emotion, so much pain. The imagery was good, too. The only downside to this poem is what you must have gone through, what you must have felt, in order to produce this.
