Dearest To Me - 1. Dearest To Me

Things have changed without a notice

The days have past without a minute ticking

But I still held on dearest to me

I held onto the memories with you

One by one the memories perish,

But the photo you left is the only thing I can cherish...

I liked the way you began...a sad one again!

But it ended too soon and I would have loved to read more! It felt like a short picture flash in front of the eyes but it disappeared too soon! So write more! :D

This is a really interesting poem. There are a couple of interpretations of this poem (What I learned in my English classes are coming out with a vengeance) such as death, dementia, a break-up etc. The only critique is I thought there should a be a "but" before the line where one by one the memories perish because the line before talks about holding onto the memories. But still, great poem!

Days will past. Memories will perish as you said. Yet we hold on to somethings which will be the sources to remember the past. Both good and bad. But the cherishing feeling we get from them was precious. You have portrayed it very well. Lovely poem. And Happy Birthday... :)
