Fiery Demons (A Poem) - MuddyRiverGirl

Like preparing a bonfire to burn high and bright

Dousing sticks with oil before throwing in a match

Anger is like the building up of negative emotions

As if an untamed wildfire has spread through you

Anger causes the whitening of your squeezed knuckles

The hands that turn to fists which then lash out

Or the words that shapeshift into fiery daggers

Your eyes become covered by a red blindfold

And your minds edges become fuzzy at the corners with darkness

You say things that you will regret later and your actions get you in trouble

It lowers your confidence, strengthens your hate, and disintegrates your relationships

Anger can lead to hate which makes your world turn from light to dark

The flowers that surrounded you become wilted and charred

Sunlight which used to beam down has gone away behind the clouds

Shadows lurk around the every corner of your life and begin to haunt you

Dangers enter your life and whisper promises and desires into your ears

Your mind begins to weaken with every wrong, angry choice

The heart which used to be yours is now small, dark, and covered in fresh scars

Anger rips away those who you used to love and who loved you back just as much

It tears away your confidence, strips you of happiness, and drains your essence of self

Anger is the Devil leading on your path to hate and it is up to you to follow that path...

or choose to be who you really are, or wish to be.
