Kevin's Big Moment - 3. A Green Afternoon by Bondwriter
As he climbed aboard his limo that would take him to his daily 2-hour golf practice, Dubya's heart was torn. Arnie's voice had brought him back old memories.
Maybe seeing Kernan the Savage 25 years ago had been one of these experiences that had forced him to admit to himself he was attracted by men. The strong, poignant narrative about a boy estranged from his family and growing up to challenge the forces of evil, and the glistening muscles of the actor of Bavarian background had made for one of the heaviest artistic moments George had ever experienced.
This movie had given him the strength to get to meet another man at the country club. Richard… Richard from the country club! This man had quite a few things going for him: his cute grin and his high position in the presidential staff. As a member of the Chevy administration, this was a man who pulled some strings. And in his younger years, George was easily lured by men of power.
This affair with Richard had been a wonderful moment. They would go hunting together, the killing of animals boosting Richard's libido like nothing else. They had great conversations about oil fields, the war they had not fought and those they'd have to wage, one day... they exchanged about substance abuse; they could not afford enrolling into an AA program, but the mutual support and the sex helped them to get through. Such beautiful memories...
Then there had been this encounter with this fantasy muscle-man. When he had met 'Arnie' for real before they ran on the same ticket for the latest campaign, the weirdest feelings had overwhelmed him. Attraction, fascination, fear, self-contempt… But as he was becoming a more mature, more responsible man, he no longer felt the same raw lust towards men of power.
What the hell! HE was the man in power. His interest now went to younger men. He should refrain from mingling with employees, as the sorry Ryan Everett situation showed, but cute twentysomethings he met in club! He almost missed his putting.
This life is so complex, George thought. A wife, two daughters, a vice-president, a chief of security, a waiter… How can I make them all happy? I have tons of love to give, but are they willing to share?
He got lusty thoughts out of his mind. He focused on Arnie's words. Why in the world would this man tell him about an affair with the Saudi prince? What would Dubya care if Arnie had fun with Asians? It was not like if Homeland Security would see this as a problem…
As he got ready for hole nine, which would be the last -he did eighteen only on weekends- George breathed deeply, and let his mind go blank. He had the skills to do so. Now, he only saw the ball, the hole and himself.
A few miles away, Kevin was trying out clothing for the evening. The chocolate episode had been fun, but he wanted more than that. He had to remain low-key enough so Dubya wouldn't feel like taking out a whore , but classy enough that his lust for praline, ganache, 70% pure cocoa and great sex would be fulfilled. He ended up settling on green. The color of hope. And of Ireland.
George never managed to finish hole nine. He had just made it onto the green, when his aide came up with his cell phone. Damn! Couldn't he have two hours for himself?
"Mr. President, Homeland Security. We might have some sort of a situation…"
"What? A problem?" George adopted his seriously-concerned-look now.
"I don't know about a problem, but they sure talked about some situation…"
