The Path - 2. Illusions of the Future

Illusions of the future

Never to become reality

Time standing utterly still

Only to fade into oblivion

Things forgotten or abandoned

Hidden deep in the darkness

Each memory fading fast

Unable to be sustained

Not being willing to settle

Knocking on the door of hope

Never realizing the end is near

Once again everything crumbles

Willing one to start over again

Not knowing what’s going to happen.

Nothing will ever be the same. I hear you. I liked how you played with the theme.
Thanks for the review Maria... I was in a bit of a dark place when I wrote this poem... Basically just writing out thoughts and then rearranging them into the poem.
