Hospice From The Living Side - 1. Chapter 1

A writer friend who was in hospice twice. Still she struggled to scribble out the words of her craft.

She is still writing, using death's threshold for a desk. A quill made from her own bone, rubbed to a point on the concrete slab upon which lay her continents. And the ink . . ., there is plenty of red ink.

Why then does she write? So much easier the path if she just gives in, lays still, allows herself to be consumed by the ever encroaching cold that beckons her, come . . ., come and find peace.

But that man may know the pain of those who travel this path, who gasp this air, who bleed this blood.

Even cotton comes with a thorn.

I think I told you how special I thought this was before. Just in case I didn't this is a very special piece. It conveys so much in so little. A beautiful poem

Very chilling and beautiful. You said so much in so little words.
Thank you. She was a very good writer. She may still be, but I doubt it. But her words taught me a lot. Thanks so very much for the review. R
