Deaf Audience and the Like - 1. Poem 1: Guidance Counselor

Random musings about life's inadequacies

Silent breaths between thoughts of possibilities

She tells me of futures that seem too fallacious

The little boy who never dreams is now overly ambitious

I resent her coffee table zeal and excitement

the sort i know she's served to others in internment

But her eyes tell of truths beyond those i've seen it seems

of a broken home, college unknown, and of morbidly broken dreams

Her fake smile permeates through the thrift store bought lip-gloss

Like a rock aged to it's cracks enveloped in moss

I recline even further into the black leather seat

With a knowing grin i let her know she was beat

I know there was nothing left in those dark brooding eyes

So i took my papers and left her my lies

I end with random musings about life's inadequacies

With solid, but ilent breaths between thoughts of impossibilities
