Supposition

by bugeye

I miss believing
That you smile
When I talk
I fear believing
You pity me now
It stops me cold
I stay away
I venture back
For a moment
Only to go again
I’ve curled up
Into that secret
Place I think
I told you about
Where dragons
And I play and
I spin them tales
Of the marvelous
I tried their advice
You know
To be steadfast true
Mostly it made me
Smile, for it is you
Who is steadfast true
And I, well
A cloud chasing rainbows
An extrapolation into the unknown……………………………….......

Isn’t that what sums my love up___
I leaped into the fiery volcano___
I dove into shallow waters___
I scaled my own walls___
And opened my heart___
At last___

Sam, what a thoughtful poem the first one was. I think it was beautiful how the two paragraphs melted together in the end.

Secon poem, *sigh* you have dragons too. I love it. Wonder if the dragons you posess have the same meanings as mine.

Tatters

Those are two poems melting perfectly into one. To me, the poem on the left is directly addressed to someone beloved, while the poem on the right reveals some general reflections on love and life. Our very personal experiences and emotions often/usually determine our more general opinions and attitudes towards the world and life in general. You used the process of reading from left to right to demonstrate it. General reflections, however, also determine our actions in daily life and our attitude towards people. A circuit perhaps. All our thoughts are closely intertwined. This is what the last part of the poem shows to us. This is a thoroughly thought out poem with multiple layers of understanding. Very good.

Supposition

I like this poem very much. Love stirs many, often contradicting emotions. It makes us ask for and dare the impossible and, sometimes, we rise above ourselves and really achieve what we once thought was impossible.

Sam, I marvel at the skill of these two beautiful poems.

We can feel both longing and love, hope and despair. Dolores has analysed Tatters quite nicely and I'm not sure I can add anything to her review.

Supposition is one of my favourite poems by you. Love can make you face the most daunting dangers, and no one is assured to find what they expect at the end of the quest.
