  1. Whoa, Nelly. I'm wiped out I may or may not have been, what the hell there is cameras in every place now adays, at a bar celebrating the little leprechauns among us. Yes, I'm talking about our Irish friends. But then again, the rugby playing guy I met last night was not little nor would I call him a leprechaun Then tonight it was my lil' sisters 50th bday. She is the last of us to hit 50, so the only thing we kids have to look forward to now is reaching 65 so we can get our Seniors Discount at Denny's Still, I am up at the crack of 1:15 am to give you what the tens of you want, the Weekly Wrap Up. With that said, let's get going! Monday, well, I messed up. Our Review Team and specifically @chris191070 did an excellent review. Just I forgot to publish it. We will see about getting it up sooner rather than later. My apologies to everyone Wednesday, if you weren't paying attention, you might have thought it was Friday already! Geez, I could handle a work week like that. Cole Matthews posted a blog for the 2nd part of the Desert Prompts. I'm kind of hungry, would any be opposed to me suggesting Dessert Prompts in a few weeks? Then believe it or not, we only had one more blog and that was from Comicality: The one thing we had every day of the week was some new, some old and some really whacky words of the day: baobab, habiliments, titivate, duckboard, maquette, shenanigan, nib Upcoming Writing Events Poetry Anthology - Exploration! 2. WAKE UP!!! YOU ARE LATE!!! Okay, that is kind of a North American comment but bear 🐻 with me (I know I spelled that wrong ) And if you are a bear, no hate mail please So before I started this blog I went back and read over all the great suggestions that you all came up with last week . I'm going to toss 3 ideas all into this blog and then see how they go, and tell me what you think. First would be, what is your favourite story that you read this week as suggested by @astone2292? Was it a chapter, or finishing off a story? Enquiring minds want to know The second one we have to be careful on, right? If I ask a question, it can't really be political. Probably won't do the above and this one every week though. This one actually dances on that line as it is politicians that make the decision, but here we go. If you are in North America (I don't believe anyone else has it), is your region getting rid of daylight savings time and going to standard time year round? What is your personal opinion, love it, hate it, indifferent to it? The third and final thing I'm going to try is every week from a suggestion last time I solicited ideas, I asked and we followed through on marking when a story is complete. Some of you are of the mind not to start a story until you know it is complete. So I will keep up the notification, but I am also going to add a quick comment from a reader after the Story link and status. If there is no comment, it will have a N/A. Maybe someone has read it and never left a comment on the story. If you want, why not share a comment below? But before we get into the wrap up, I do need to ask a favour from the masses. Can you just think of any story you have read in the past year, 2 years, or 3 years? Come up with 3 simple questions and send the story name and the questions, can be more than 3, off to @astone2292? Just to be extra sure everyone knows something some of us may take for granted, to send a message to @astone2292 is to click on his highlighted name and it will take you to his profile. I've checked it and it is PG rated . Then click on the Message button: So onto the blog, I think I have talked myself out . Monday was Cia's chance to kick off (no pun intended ) the March CSR Feature: Next up on Thursday was Valkyrie reminding us all to get an Poetry Anthology in if you want to get into the game! You have until Midnight, April 1st EST to get your entry in! Shall we ask Valkyrie, since time is a topic this week . Is the 12:00 AM April 1st, or 11:59:59 on April 1st? I'm sure either way she will help you out! Friday, well rested and roaming the desert with Cole Mathews, they both came up with some interesting prompts. Care to partake? If you wanted all your questions about Niche Writing, then Comsie's article is the place to be: Upcoming Writing Events Poetry Anthology - Exploration! 3. Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening and Night. Depending on where in the day you are when you read this. 🕰️ I looks like our shortest month of the year is almost over. Can I tell a joke that hopefully everyone sees the humour of it and don't fill up my inbox with hate mail Actually it was told to me by a friend in the field, so to speak So what month of the year do farmers complain the least amount about the weather? Okay, settle down out there Would that fit into the category of a dad joke? Maybe this week I will ask you to tell me your best dad joke What do you call a guy out in the ocean bouncing up and down? Buoy What do you call a guy with no arms or legs? Doesn't matter, he won't come What do you call a guy about to tell the next joke? Randy What do you call a guy on his knees helping another guy out? Either, Neil or Bob If I at least made you crack a grin a little bit on any of the above, then my job is done. But on the other hand if Myr see's this and doesn't approve, my job will be done. Permanently 😮 Shall we get onto the wrap up? Yes? Okay. Monday, Cia was in a bit under the weather. Hope she is doing fine With this month's Signature Author Feature, it is a popular story A hop, skip and a jump to a Wednesday follow up, the Signature Author Excerpt. Hope this entices you to read or reread Thursday was a shout out to everyone to maybe dust off their poetry skills, or plan out to get ready for our Poetry Anthology. Friday, Mr. Matthews decided to take us on a journey, with some prompts: Saturday, Comicality helped us all out with another writing article: 3 days left!!!! Last week I was impressed where we were on our goals for February. Wonder where we are now? If you are curious like me, here is the answer: Word, word, everywhere a word... sung to the tune of Signs by the Five Man Electric Band zymurgy, hobbish, zibeline, zephyr, zeal, zoology, zebu It appears that the Words of the Day were more or less brought you by the letter Z! 4. I"m curious, how you are doing on your New Years resolutions? I promised to not be mean to Val this year, and I haven't No matter what she says! If you want, share if you made any resolutions. The past two years I resolved to be more of a drama queen and failed miserably both years 😢 Hey, maybe you have a resolution for me Can you believe we are in 2023 already? I'm pretty sure it won't be long before we talk about it nearly being 2024! Not sure if time flies faster the younger, or the older you get. Or, is it based on for a lack of a better word, boredom. Like sitting at work and doing nothing makes an 8 hour day go on forever. Yet if you are behind the eight ball it seems like those 8 hours were not enough and you feel like you just started. Last thing I want to tell you about is that I was an extremely good boy on Wed, Jan 4th . I didn't point out any members here a GA had a birthday or how they are soundly in the later half of their 30's. Nope, I did not! To start of the New Year, we had a relaunch of the January CSR due to technical difficulties. So if you missed the first call to read, consider this a second chance: As a side note, on Monday as well, Myr shared with us a recap of all the stories that were updated in 2022. Wow, that is one big list Thank you to all the people who picked up a pen in the past year and gave us all something to read : Now strap yourself in for the wild and whacky ride that Ask An Author 3.0 brought us You could feel the love in the room this past Wednesday: I hope you all saw the blog last week where the Anthology Selection Team revealed that the theme for next year's Anthology was Leap of Faith. Well this week we found out the dates and information for two more writing events: Friday was another chance to get a couple of new prompts. Hey, that could be a resolution, write one prompt a week! Saturday, Comicality kicked off a new year with a new article. Make sure you check this one out. I thought there might be a certain Ozzy Osbourne song as part of the blog, but I was wrong . I must be crazy!! Since we are in a brand new year, let us look forward rather than back at the last year for goals. We did that last week already. So here is where we are for our January goals: There was some really interesting conversations in the Word of the Day entries this week. Check them all out and let everyone know if you have something to add: sprachgefühl, harangue, tare, amerce, moxie, dorsal, semelparous Upcoming Writing Events - More info to follow Poetry Anthology - Exploration! 5. I will tell you off the start, I had some fun this week I had the pleasure of stepping in to do the Ask An Author for Aaron this week. It was kind of nice to give him a much needed week off. Still not sure the reason for his absence, but make sure you check out the blog and hazard a guess . So what is new and exciting in my life this week? Well a whole lot of nothing. I'm in what I call the 2 weeks of hell at my real life job that happens every year. Luckily that is done and over with now . What about you working folk, do things get busier at this time of year? I work backstage retail so yeah I guess it would be fair to say I'm running around like a chicken with his head cut off. No offense to any chickens reading this . We had a pretty productive week here at the GA New Blog, so here is a rundown of every day on the site in case you forgot to be here a day or two . Monday, Cia presented our CSR for the month of December. Not sure is it is seasonal related but I might have to check it out based on the title alone. Tuesday, it was the aforementioned Ask An Author 3.0: Thursday, Val went way back into the Anthology Vault and found a theme of Carpe Diem: Friday, what would Friday be without some prompts. This week Aditus went with, what can I say, Magical! Then to finish up the week, we had Part Deux of Comicality articles about cheating Remember, don't cheat kids Sunday through Saturday, Myr gave us a word to ponder and pontificate over if to use in our daily vocabulary carpe diem, rutilant, saccade, bilk, uxorial, haptic, lambent Well that concludes are weekly wrap up... No wait, we still have more I'll post where we are in the month of December as well as our yearly goals for the next 3-4 weeks: Blog Opportunities Ask an Author 3.0: Send in 3 questions that you would like your favourite story's author to answer for you. 6. I hope my 'merican friends and their families of origin or found had a super Thanksgiving holiday. Did you eat too much? I think TG is one of the mandatory 'pass' days that you get to eat what you want, how much you want, and for as long as you want. It is surprising that with New Year's resolutions that people make those far stretched promises to themselves to stop smoking, go to the gym, stop drinking alcohol and such, that there is nothing for Thanksgiving. Maybe there should be promises to go to the gym to combat all the food at the very least! I'm not sure about the rest of the world, but up in Canada boxing day (Dec. 26) was our biggest sale day where retailers cleared out their old stock at ridiculous prices. Now the American Black Friday has replaced that, closely followed by Cyber Monday. So were you able to participate, or was things just a little too tight this year? I had my 12 year old TV start to pixelate pretty bad so I was able to take advantage of the sales to get a new, bigger TV. Before Krista can make any accusations, NO it is not for watching porn . We had a pretty good week here at the GA New Blog. Let's jump right in and see what all was out there for you, just in case you missed something. I know I like to upload the neat profile signatures that Cia does up every month for our Siggy of the Month. Ever thought of doing it? Wednesday we were looking at an excerpt from our siggy story of the month: On Friday Val came up with a few interesting prompts. Any takers? I think one of the tricker things to write and not lose your readers is switching to and from a flashback. Comsie brought some suggestions on how to do that: 7 days, 7 new words! 7. Has anyone seen Valkyrie? Oh, there she is So the folks in Western New York seem to have got over a meter/yard of snow over the past few days! Here, we haven't got rid of the snow from Nov. 3 yet Saw pictures from Nova Scotia where the doggies were playing on the green grass! I'm sure you Floridians can make me jealous in just one picture! Do you hear me? No more than one picture First come, first served! Now not to often I encourage bad words to be used here, but I really want to know what you think about that four letter word, s**w? Do you like it, do you hate it? Have you ever seen it? Have you ever felt it? I'd say have you ever tasted it but that would take this discussion downhill a little too quickly If you do get the white stuff, do you have any yet? You hear me down in Australia and New Zealand, how much snow have you got in the past month? Now I know we are all busy people with getting ready for the holidays, picking out my Christmas present, so shall we get on with one of the busiest weeks on the GA News Blog in a long while? 6 days out of 7 we came your way. So in case you missed anything, here is a nice, tidy, compact, recap Monday was Aditus from our Review Team bringing us a Featured Story to check out: Then on Tuesday, we had another big announcement! That is two in two weeks Make sure you drop by and send Dodger your congratulations: Skip a day and we are onto Anthology Thursdays. Valkyrie before she got snowed under, gave us an update of what is going on for next year's anthologies: Now if you like the unusual, and I mean that in a nice way , for prompts. Check out this weeks Prompts from Aditus: Finally on Saturday, Comicality dropped by with another Writing Article. More and more of you are commenting and it is interesting reading your take on things as well as his. We are about 2/3 of the way through November, so are we 2/3 of the way through our monthly goals? 8. They say a picture is worth a thousand words This is what it looked like in my next of the woods after 3 days of temps in the mid 20's C, (77F) which were records, to dropping down below 0 overnight (32 F) and getting around 15 cm (6 inches) of snow Just so you know, even though I'm happy to see some much needed moisture and the first snow fall of the year, I blame this 100% on @Krista She wished this on me for like the past month and a half. Now rumour has it snow has been spotted below the Mason Dickson Line already So curious, have you had any snow? The ways things are I guess it might be appropriate to ask everyone, no matter where you are This week we got into a regular groove again and had some missed weekly blogs make their returns. Monday, Cia was in to introduce us to this gem of a story in our Signature Feature: Wednesday she was back with an excerpt from the story to entice you into taking a look. Wednesday was Val's time to talk to us all about anthology themes. She also opened up a couple of polls to gauge opinions out there. Friday, Additus brought us back to the weekly prompts. Are you thinking it is time to give one a go? Saturday was Comsie's day to bring a new writing article to help everyone out. Each morning, depending on where you live we got a new word of the day: pleiad, panoply, caravansary, juncture, exonerate, extenuate, cozen With one week to go, let's make a valiant charge to get our reading stats up there for the month of October: Blog Opportunities Ask an Author 3.0: Send in 3 questions that you would like your favourite story's author to answer for you. (Psst, sorry Myr, I forgot , Steve) Monday, Cia helped out the Review Team with a new Featured Story. Thursday Myr got some time to bring us an Anthology Flashback: After some time off to look after the Anthologies, our Prompt Team came back with two new prompts: @Comicality returned Saturday with another new article on writing. 10. Well a Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends. Not sure if you all have plans to be with someone(s) for the day or for dinner, but I really hope you all do . I'll be heading out to friends place this year to join his entire family to enjoy a turkey and so much more I was thinking about Halloween, since it is my job in real life , is like less that 3 weeks away . So have you put any thoughts into what you are going to dress up as? That is if you dress up. Why not have some fun this year and no matter what happens, you can do at least do a little dress up for Halloween. Maybe something as easy as some cat ears, pin a tigers tail to you butt, so many possibilities. So tell us your big, or little, plans for the 31st. Another quieter week at the GA news blog but what we had, we had well worth the quality Monday, Cia dropped on by with a brand new CSR for the month of October: Wednesday was the first one of the month and Aaron brought us something new to us all and frankly I never would have thought of doing . Did you check it out? Also, make sure you send him just 3 simple, easy questions about a story you read here. He will get the answers you never knew you could have answered! So the past 5 weeks, we have had 4 weeks of a fabulous anthology stories under the theme of Anniversary. So Cia recapped everything all up into a nicely wrapped up blog entry. Curiosity is killing me, did you read all the entries? Seven days this past week, Myr was in with a new word of the day: youthquake, Cassandra, kapellmeister, thwart, aubade, unabashed, crux Now we are just barely into 1 week of October, but lets see where we are in our goals. 11. 3 down and 1 to go!! We are getting there! Before you start to feel withdrawals from not having any more new anthology entries, rest assured that there was enough of them for the Anthology - Anniversary that there will be a fourth and final release next Thursday for all of you What else is new you ask (okay, maybe you didn't ) Well Thursday was not only the release of round 3, but it also was the kick off off the Fall Equinox up here in the Northern Hemisphere and the Spring Equinox in the South. Did you happen to see any Druids walking down the street around sunrise on Thursday? Seemingly to keep with the turn of the season, I have now caught my first full blown cold of the fall I thought it was just going to be a sniffle or two but waking up this morning I had a present that I was definitely not wanting. Fluids, fluids, fluids they say. No beer for me today, but a couple of liters of water instead. I was wondering to myself, Self, what else happened at the GA News Blog this week? Well if you asked yourselves the same question, thank gosh you have visited here for a nice wrapped up and easily referenced place to get it all. Monday, it was time to kick off with an all new Signature Author for the next month: If that was not enough to get you to check out our featured Siggy, how about a little excerpt of theirs on Wednesday: Finally on Thursday, we had the 3rd release of 4 for the Anthology - Anniversary: We did also have a featured word every day of the past week too: sawbones, viva voce, procrastinate, paroxysm, bathetic, froufrou, chilblain With only a week to go, are we going to make all our goals this month? 12. I would be remiss if I didn't mention at the start of the Wrap Up about the 2nd round of the GA Anniversary Anthology 😮 It is more a fear of @Valkyrie. Even without her threats and promises of a world of hurt, I would have done it anyways So about those stories, why not give us an update on how you are doing? Did you get through all of Round 1. Have you got through Round 2 already ? Have you liked and left a chapter comment or story comment? I know our authors really appreciate everyone's feedback. With this being the first anthology in a while, let's leave our authors with good memories of what you thought of what they did. How the characters and stories made you feel! On the personal front, not too much to report here So I'll save you anything more about me Even though I didn't know what day of the week it was, I did manage to get the Review Teams latest and greatest review up on Monday: Then on Tuesday, did you drop by for some cake and drinks? Supposedly Myr had the hard stuff hidden for just himself Luckily he did up the following blog post before he cracked the bottle . 20 Years, WOW!!! Then with great fan fair, we got the second round of the 2022 Anthology: Anniversary: On Friday and Saturday we gave the Review Team and Comicality the day off again. They will both be back soon! Now what about the Word's of the Day? Did we get 7 of them? bevy, torpor, eidectic, esoteric, prognosticate, obeisance, pellucid Now with all these new stories, how the heck are we doing on our goals? 13. Hey all, what's up? First off, thank you Cia for stepping in last week and getting the majority of the Weekly Wrap Up done for me Not sure if you noticed the latest announcement, but Myr, Cia and the programmer are all working triple overtime to try to fix the caching issues. Some significant improvements have happened over the past week with a few more patches coming this week. Hopefully they can nip this in the bud soon, as I know they are all trying so hard to get it done. You also are having great patience too! So after the high heat we have had the past couple of weeks, we had a thunderstorm around noon today with a lot of lightning roll in, and I was caught in it Wouldn't be the first time I've been caught, but at least I didn't get hit by lightning... this time Yes, that fact probably explains a lot about me . Well as I look outside right now 8 hours later, still raining with the occasional clap of thunder. Now for what happened here at the GA News Blog for the week. A little bit quieter around here for a bit of a change.Believe it or not, Valkyrie was the first to get a blog up for the Anthology. Just remember, you have 4 days to get your anthology into the review team! Friday, Aditus was here to represent the Prompt Team with a couple of new ideas to prod you for the week Just the name of the prompts piqued my interest: Comicality held the final position with another great Writing Article to help everyone out that picks up a pen and paper so to speak: With everything going on, Myr was still setting his alarm clock early and posting the Word of the Day: caduceus, slew, flounder, rectilinear, variegated, argosy, decussate With the month coming to a close why don't we put a one last big push to get all our stats as close to the100% levels: Anthologies, Writing Challenges, and Contests 2022 Anthology - Anniversary - Submitted to @Valkyrie for the proof team by Sept. 1, 2022 Blog Opportunities Ask an Author 3.0: Send in 3 questions that you would like your favourite story's author to answer for you. I will try again in the morning Edit to add: I'm swooping in because I was online doing homework. I can see what Mr. Wildone cannot for some reason, so I thought I'd help out! Thank you all for being patient with this horrible bug; Myr is working diligently to track it down every day since that last IP update. 15. Can you believe we are half the way through January From my eyes and ears on the ground, I hear that some of the cold from Siberia to Canada has now hit down towards the south of the USA and Europe and beyond. So how is it in your neck of the woods? Any snow ball fights? Making snow angels? Is your dog refusing to go outside to do their business? Well I promise we won't send the cold freezing weather to our friends in Australia and New Zealand Well we had a slow week to start the GA Blog but picked up at the end with new things going on here at the GA Blog. Let's take a look. Why don't we start the week off with the Words of the Day supplied by Myr. polyonymous, salvo, clerisy, preposterous, astute, paradigm, amphibology On Thursday, Myr gave us more knowledge than I knew about adjectives Cole Matthews popped in Friday as one of out Prompt Team members. 16. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening and good night if you are heading to bed 🛌 I wonder how many of you did the age old tradition of making New Year's resolutions. We are 9 days into the New Year and I'm also curious if you are still maintaining your resolution, or has it fell by the wayside already 😮 I know of one person who is trying really, really hard to keep up their resolution, but wonder if is good for their mental health. I mean, they have been on the earth for nearly 4 decades and to change something that has been part of their personality all their life, I wouldn't be able to do it. So, if by chance this friend actually comes on here and reads the Weekly Wrap Up, I myself give them permission to throw the resolution out We did have a very busy week here at the GA Blog, so should we look back at the week to see what appeared. Monday, Cia brought us the January CSR feature. Go check it out and put a new story on your reading list. Then on Wednesday, there was ask for everyone on site to come forward with a story and 3 questions they would like the story's author to answer. @astone2292will track them down and get you, and everyone else, answers to your questions. Check out this blog, especially for the Author that gave us answers this round! On Thursday, Myr brought us a brand new blog that will be appearing on Thursdays. Check out the first episode of the Grammar Guide: Friday was time for our trusty friends to come out with another couple of prompts to get you writing On Saturday, Comsie closed out the week with another informative article: Goals, goals, goals! 17. Wow, this blog is going to cover A LOT of stuff. After all we are going to cover last year as well as this year too ! But if you were like me, it seems harder to remember the good stuff from last year, which there was, from the bad stuff . But we are in a new year with new expectations . I would like to remember a good friend of GA and to many on a more personal level as well, the passing of Comicfan. His contributions and participation on the site will always be in our memory On the good news side of GA, we had some transitions to different people on various different blogs. I'm very proud of the efforts and the continuation of the Review Team, Ask An Author, and Prompt Team. Without these volunteers, the blog would be a less of a destination to visit for different people. Now what about looking forward? In all honesty, I am pretty excited about what is to come. Myr and Cia have been working in the background with different staff and a whole lot of new volunteers to make visible changes to not only processes, but presentation of different areas of the site. You will see some more changes and don't worry, not one of the proposed changes has seen me saying, 'well, the old way was better'. In fact, it is not a wholesale change like throwing the baby out with the bath water, but more like adding a sibling to make the family better One new thing you will notice even on this blog, is the story listings. We now have the ability to run the week's story updates for all classes of authors and we'll continue to feature the ones we have all followed, but also giving a bit of PR for the non promoted authors in their quest to be promoted! Here is all the participants of our volunteer blogs: @Timothy M.@chris191070@Talo Segura@Aditus@Parker Owens@spike382@Puppilull@astone2292@Valkyrie@Cole Matthews@Myr@Cia @Renee Stevens. I can't forget to thank all the others that are part of our Anthology Proof Team, Author Promotion Team, GA Engagement Team, Site Development Team, and the Story Archivist Team. If I forgot your team or name, let me know, I can always edit Last thing we will do, is look how we finished off the month of December on our goals! You know, we finished off the month with amazing numbers. Great job everybody. So with all that said 😌, let's review what the blog brought us all of the past 7 days! On Monday, Cia had the must read CSR Discussion Day: Friday Myr came back to kick off a blog celebrating the incoming New Year on New Year's Eve! Lots of well wishes in there and never too late to add another: Saturday was a special day, where Myr showed off a couple of new capabilities of the site in Year in Review Blogs. Myr actually featured a lot of words this week that might be in my day to day vocabulary If you think they are esplanade, pyrrhic and provender, you are so wrong esplanade, nabob, pyrrhic, verbatim, provender, rambunctious, culprit Contests - Newsletter Genre Challenge - Stories Due January 30, 2022 Check out this great challenge here. 18. So Steve, why are you blasting 80's hair band music so early on a Sunday morning? Well, technically you have only 5 days left for buying your Christmas Presents (including mine) before the day the big fat jolly guy comes around 🎅 That brings up another topic... That is right, our next weekly update will be on Boxing Day, if your not sure what that is ask a friendly neighbourhood Canadian or Brit On behalf of all the staff here at Gay Authors, we all want to wish you the very merriest of Christmases and hope that you get to celebrate in a way that makes you happy. If you are not a fan of Christmas or an observer, just be aware that all of us are wishing you all the Best as well! That has to be worth something I'm sure we will have lots of Merry Christmas posts in the lounge coming up, so this is just one more and represents the hopes, feelings, and wishes of the entire team here at GA. Now as we get closer to Christmas, we did have a slower week at the GA News Blog. Let's check in with all that happened. Monday, @spike382 on behalf of the site Review Team had a great review of a story here at GA: Then we had the all new Prompt Team on Friday bring us a few more challenges with two more interesting prompts: Comicality was in with another great article to wrap the week up: Goals, how did we do on goals? 19. Do any of my American friends like smoked turkey for Thanksgiving? I have it on pretty good authority that it might not be the most healthy food...for you I've been waiting a week to get that one out I know! You can't stop laughing at it, just like me ! Anywho... Canada had our holiday over a month ago and My American Cousins are about to celebrate theirs over the whole next week It seems that in some jobs, but not in all, this holiday becomes a 5 day weekend ! I imagine if you work ANYTHING to do with retail, then it is anything but a long weekend . Make sure to say thanks to a retail worker this week So a lot is bad in our world these days and some might say getting worse, but let's put that all aside and leave it for the Pit. Let's answer one simple question this week. What are you most thankful for in the past year, or the upcoming year? I'll be honest, when my sister asked me this during 'nadian TG, I thought how my dad was able to slip away from us and no longer have to suffer the constant daily battles of trying to deal with his rapidly decreasing mental capacity. Some would say you're thankful for that? I would reply that even in the worse case scenario, there is always some great goodness that can and should be found. He is much happier now. So go ahead, let me know what you are thankful for this year. You don't need to be 'merican to play along. It is always a good thing for everyone to think about . Looking back at the week we had here at the GA Blog, we had what was a cram packed week of 3 different blogs. Monday had us looking at a whole new Classic Author Feature: Wednesday, Cia was back again with the Classic Author Excerpt: Then on Thursday, we had our final installment of the 2021 Fall Anthology. There is another great list of stories that are meant to be read! 20. Those of you that still have or always have had daylight savings time, today is the day that it is okay to be late to work So if you showed up for your 9:00 AM shift at 9:15 but forgot to set your clocks back, you are 45 minutes early Let's just ignore the fact that most people use their phone for their alarm and phones automatically update on their own . So Thursday was the first of many big weeks here at GA! Did you get excited about the start of releasing of the Fall 2021 Anthologies on Thursday? There is now ample reading to keep you busy and all new stories at that! Let's look back at the rest of the week and see what happened at the GA Blog. On Monday, Cia brought us a new CSR Story to read over the next month! I've read it, I loved it, really looking forward to the Author Discussion Day Wednesday was kind of a sad day Aaron ran out of questions to ask our authors for AAA. Renee did up a blog to show how easy it is. Doesn't matter if you are a long term term member, a new member, a vocal member or a shy member, you all can submit 3 questions anonymously to Aaron. He will then be like the Cookie Monster and hunt down a cookie, or maybe an author , and hopefully get your answers and feature them on AAA. Remember, you are anonymous! **Legal Disclaimer - Aaron has not nibbled on an author like a cookie... in a while** Thursday was the first of four weeks of something that is getting more and more popular every time we publish. Make sure you check out all of the first releases of the 2021 Fall Anthology! A huge thank you to Authors, Editors, Banner designers and to all the readers as well. 22. Bulletin Bulletin Bulletin Bulletin Bulletin Bulletin Bulletin Bulletin Bulletin Just in case it has slipped your mind, you only have until October 31st to get your Anthology into the Review Team. Make sure you see the blurb below for more details. Well, we are having our municipal election on the 18th of this month in my little city and ever other town, hamlet, village, etc. in the province. Provincially we have been given a few shall we say 'political referendums' to vote on, which I won't get into here Don't want to have to report myself to the Site Moderation Team . Anywho, the one question I thought I would ask and it is I believe a North America question, and even some places don't practice it here either, is whether to keep Daylight Savings Time or not. This is where we turn our clocks back an hour in the late fall and turn them ahead in the spring an hour. I do believe that it was originally done for farmers, to maximize the amount of daylight that they would have to be outstanding in their field (that was a joke in case you missed it ). Well it seems to be a divisive issue. Some people say the springing back and forward mucks up their sleep for weeks and their attentiveness as well. Others, including doctors says our bodies natural circadian rhythm will get all mucked up with daylight later in the day. So curious how you feel about it without making it political? If you are in a region that has it, do you want to get rid of it, or if you never have had it, does it really matter to you? 25. I'm giddy My football team has been having a really, really bad year this year. If you are thinking of the CFL, then you got the right league. If you don't know what the CFL is, then there is no hope for you as a true football fan But, I imagine the majority of you are saying something like why the hell does he talk about sports here! Not a question, but a statement . So they kind of lost on Labour Day against their arch rivals and the rematch was tonight. Needless to say the won, bringing their yearly record to 2-4. Like I said, not have a good year . So what gets you giddy? I think @Valkyrie is giddy as she told me she is getting to watch the Spruce Meadows Nations Cup this weekend. Although their isn't many nations, it is still nice to see some things getting back to normal, like show jumping. Horses that is 🐎! Wait, I'm talking sports again . On Monday, CIa was happy to tell us about a brand new Can't Stop Reading Feature. It is actually from an author that most of you know. Then we jumped onto Thursday, when said featured author was in to bring you another Anthology Entry Revisted: Well I'm going to do something different, I think both Cia and Renee have done them, but why don't I have the topic link rather than just a hidden link for all of Myr's Words of the Day: Goals, so where are we as we approach the middle of the month of September Anthologies 2021 Anthology #2 Top Theme 1 - A Winding Path - October 31st, 2021 2021 Anthology #2 Top Theme 2- An Unconventional Gift - October 31st, 2021 2021 Anthology #2 Pot Luck Themes - October 31st, 2021 Anthology 101 - In the Anthology Forum.
