First of all, I'm really glad you like the story mate - my first attempt at gay fiction has taken me by surprise, but hearing others thoughts on it is always great.

 

The front page is um... 'very nice' but it gives the impression of a backwater, like it's thrown together 'cause it has to be there, a sort of 'hey I'm not tarting it up, I've got other things on my mind' attitude. This could well be intentional, but I'm kind of glad I arrived elsewhere when I first did.

 

The front page has been vastly improved even in the short time I've been here, but I agree it's not perfect. It doesn't give a good idea as to the content of the site, but it seems to do the job. Plenty of people come here so I guess it must be working.

 

Content is hard to find.

 

Some content is not always easy to locate, but the majority can be found relatively easily, though I did only just discovered the "Anthology" section today!!! Still, the forum is where I spend most of my time and that's laid out perfectly and the Story Archives, Books and Movies sections work very well too.

 

The Zot, (who is on the front page, but not on the 'hosted' page)

 

Dio and The Zot are on the front page, but as far as I know are not yet hosted authors. If you go to the hosted section and click on "Shared Member Hosting" you should find the links to their pages. As I understand it, shared member hosting is the stage between the normal, run of the mill authors like me and the hosted authors like Dan and Dom.

Replay is excellent, characters believable and well drawn. I'm impatient, which is one reason reading serials is a pain, unless they're finished. So post more. Now please! As for it being gay fiction... If the sex were removed it would work just as well. Like John Christopher or John Wyndham, you have talent.

 

'Last Night' is a different barrel of worms entirely. Talk about happy endings. Sheesh.

OK, being compared to John Wyndham has to be an ego boost for any author - "Day of the Triffids" is one of my favourite books. I'm glad you think it would work without the sex, or possibly even if it had straight characters - I wanted to write a good story that just happened to have gay characters in it rather than a gay story with an interesting plot, if that makes sense. Anyway, I'm glad you like it mate - I'm off work today so fingers crossed I'll get some more of it done so you don't have to wait much longer.

 

As for "Last Night" - I wanted to write something different to show the pain that love could bring as well as the joy. It may not be a happy story, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. Plus if you write a few stories with sad endings it keeps the readers on their toes - they never know how a story will end.

I'm on the member's page, along with Dio and KenderCleric. Yankee's in the efiction site mostly for completeness -- I'd thrown a couple of chapters in there to help test the software when Myr was getting it settled in, and put the rest of the chapters in because I didn't want to leave it half-finished in there. (Plus someone had asked if I had the whole thing as a single file, and that was the easiest way to get it)
