BoyNeedsTherapy Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Hehe, in one of my classes about the origins of the planet my lecturer uses the abbreviation myr for 'million years ago' and I had to write myr about a thousand times today, and each and everytime I thought of you Myr I just thought I'd share that with the group, hehe.
Dio Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Man...myr must have been have sneezing like crazy today...
JamesSavik Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 MYR is also used in astronomy & astrophysics in relation to the age and evolution of stars and other objects. It's short for Mega YeaRs or Million Years. e.g. Many geophysicists estimate the age of our planet to be between 8,000 to 6,000 MYR. I'm sure that it doesn't have anything to do with our Myr who doesn't look a day over 24.
