Remember Virginia Tech

I want to take some time to recognize and remember the victims of the Virginia Tech massacre shooting, which occurred on April 16th, 2007- 5 years ago today.

I remember the day clearly. I was sitting in Trabant Hall, eating lunch, and then the news came on that a mass shooting had occurred over at Virginia Tech. What struck me about the whole thing was that I just couldn't believe that a school shooting would happen at a college- I thought that we were safe because college students don't really get bullied like they do in middle school and high school. A "College Columbine" didn't seem possible to me, until it happened. Later that week I took part in a candlelight vigil in front of Memorial Hall with some of my friends.
