I remember reading about him a couple of years ago. He legitimately had a really gorgeous face before the drugs started wrecking his looks, which I think was ultimately unfortunate for him. I think the boy likely got devoured in the modeling industry. You would think being from a rich family would better help the nepos avoid the predators but I guess not. As a random more superficial note, Kaia Gerber is actually my fancast for young adult Maddy Graves. I pictured her having Jeanine's Italian beauty but Cody's tall height. Poor Kaia. I was watching the Shards recently, too. To bring it back to the story, I think Mark has generally set a pretty clear line that Brad and his line aren't genetically susceptible to drug addiction. (I don't think his biological father was, either?) It's why Will can live the hedonism he lives but manages to avoid a lot of the pitfalls that can come with it. Drug addiction/mental health issues seem more with the Hayes family line, although so far Matt Carrswold has avoided that.

In that alternate universe timeline, Private Tim and Matthew are hipsters in some gentrifying Los Angeles neighborhood who met at a Gore rally and their son Tommy looks like Michael Cimino from Love, Victor.

Eh, the timeline has actually picked up somewhat. It kind of has to, because of how long it takes for a t.v. show to get put together and then aired. I also don't think Mark wanted to dwell too much on Travis's drug use ramping up. I do think at this point we've gotten enough runway that we could skip ahead a few years and Mark would still have plenty of storyline left.

At this point I'm speculating on where Mark's going to send Riley Danfield to college at. I'm hoping it's Duke or UVA. We've never really done a Southern college atmosphere. Of course I realize it's going to be a looooonnnngggg time before we get there, but I figure Mark will probably add in some new young people to serve as bridge characters between the established Millennial characters and the nascent Zoomers (largely Riley, Maddy, Bobby, and Freddie) while we wait for the Zoomers to get old enough.

Gee guys, what will happen if Travis doesn't consent to Will's plans for rehab? I sure do hope that Will manages to respect that and doesn't force Travis into anything he doesn't want to do. Well, we know that this wasn't Ken's first time to the rodeo and we also know that he really doesn't seem to have anyone protecting him. I imagine there's a lot of enemies. He also doesn't seem to have Cathy Ames's shrewd ability to collect blackmail.

Honestly, Austen is probably better off getting a clean break from Will.

Chapter 44 -When Travis wakes up and realizes that Will knows and he's very, very mad. "Cocaine" by Eric Clapton -When Travis is given some pills and goes back to sleep into sleepyland where everything is just one big fluffy cloud of fluffballs. "Sunshine, Lollipops, and Raindrops" by Lesley Gore -When Kendo thinks to himself what a great job he did at getting Travis hooked to drugs, and what a catch he is. There's this extremely weird disappearance case from "your era", so to speak, of a UCLA freshman boy who walked out of his dorm at 4:00 a.m. in the morning in December of 1999 and was never seen again. His name was Michael Negrete. The main theory in the case is that he went on an acid trip, voluntarily left his dorm, and then got wandered around Los Angeles incapacitated for a bit until someone abducted him. Honestly, I got the impression that he was likely meeting up with some guy for a hook-up and wanted to do it while his roommate was asleep and he met with the wrong dude. Witnesses who lived in Dykstra Hall (where it happened) said they saw a 35-year old guy randomly walking around the dorm at the about the same time Michael disappeared. I mean, this would have been the time where you were making up hookup plans on like bulletin message boards. But yeah, I mean, if a A-honor roll student from a nice family could get swallowed up like that, it's hard to imagine what happens to the boys who aren't from the types of families that can send their kids to UCLA.

It occurred to me that this year's current college freshman class was actually born when Mark started writing CAP in 2008. Damn. This felt like the best thread to point this out in because I really had no idea that CAP would have the longevity of an actual soap opera. Lol Damn, 18 years.

"Mr. Brightside" by The Killers -When Will meets up with Jeff and decides to engage in some party n play in order to understand what he's up against. "Running Up That Hill" by Placebo

Eh, I get it. Dude aged exceptionally well. Reese Junior is getting a push in the gay media lately if you're wondering why I'm referencing him. Bizarrely they're trying to push the narrative that he looks like his dad when dude clearly has his Mommy's face.

You might like Reese Witherspoon Junior. Not that he looks like Young Leo, but if you're into the category of blond twinks and don't mind the pointy Witherspoon chin, he's not a bad entry at all.

Chapter 42 -When Will ruminates over Travis, feeling like he's losing him but still hoping that he can make things work on May 26th. "Where'd You Go?" by Fort Minor -When Travis mopes yet again about his life as a television star and tries to talk to Aaron about how the storyline is affecting him. "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter -When Travis takes the GHB and goes on a big fluffy cloud with Kendo driving the fluffy crowd train. "Message In A Bottle" by The Police You know, it's funny, despite being exactly the intended target for Leo Mania (I was 11 years old when Titanic debuted after I had already seen Romeo and Juliet) but Leo never did much for me. I preferred tall brunette guys like Josh Hartnett, Brendan Fehr, David Boreanaz, Joshua Jackson, and Ben Affleck.

Yeah, I forget the biggest rule of a soap opera is that once a couple gets their happily ever after, they're generally shipped off (Matt/Wade) or they drop down to recurring while they give out advice to the young couples (Stefan/JP.) Anyway, this is trending on Twitter, and it's making me laugh because Travis would probably see Zac as his competition. LOL I remember when Zac was held up as a child actor/teen idol who actually turned out normal with people citing his supportive family as why, and then it came out that he's also had several stints in rehab.

I'm trying to remember if Will ever really got to that stage with anybody, and I'm failing. He and Zach's slow breakup pretty much started after Zach began college. I'm laughing now as I say this, but when Travis was introduced, I really did think to myself, "Aww, Mark is finally giving Will a nice stable relationship instead of drama all the time."

Well, I adore Travis. There's nothing more fun than a neurotic television star. LOL

My Tiffany fancast Kristen Bell took a moment to remind us again why she's so fucking awesome. LOL

Unfortunately I think the likelihood of Will ever ending up with a nice, normal guy who isn't a neurotic mess is pretty much nil. Like his father, tortured blond jocks are Will's kryptonite. At one point a long time ago I think Mark considered writing Will a nice Mormon love interest but stopped because of how boring it was. Lol

It's not naivete. It's Travis being a junkie and telling himself what he needs to tell himself in order to get his fix. I do agree that they need to consider a clean break up for now, and then re-consider things when Will inevitably moves back to California after he graduates from Harvard in 2008. (Or 2009. It's always possible Mark might let Will be a super-senior like Darius.) I wonder if Mark would consider letting Will settle into San Diego. That's always felt like a city I've wanted to see more of in CAP.

I imagine Stef reacting in horror the first time sees one of the Gen Z boy characters wearing this monstrosity: I'm leaning towards it being Bobby Carrswold. He'll have the right hair texture for it because Hayes boys tend to have curlier, poofy hair. Riley would probably stick to the classic 90's haircut that comes back in when he's a teenager because I can't see any scenario in which Wade would tolerate a trendy but ugly hairstyle on his heir. LOL
