hh5 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 It's been a while since we last heard news of the Will Smith-starring remake of the 1970 evil computer film Colossus: The Forbin Project, but we're excited to hear about the latest talent brought onboard. Ed Solomon, the screenwriter who co-wrote the Bill & Ted movies (and the TV series) and penned Men in Black, will be rewriting the movie's script. Much like the original film, the Colossus remake will center on a supercomputer that has taken over the world. Smith is set to play the AI's creator, Dr. Charles Forbin, who is the only hope to end Colossus' reign. The remake script was original penned by Blake Masters and Jason Rothenberg, but now The Hollywood Reporter states that Solomon will be taking over. 1
Celethiel Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 no idea, i didn't see the original... it's kind of like saying to people, Hey did you see Logans Run... a lot of people will say shockingly to me, no 1
JamesSavik Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 (edited) here is the original http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZE6ltxqEmA This was one of a number of awesome 70s Cold War movies that I heartily recommend! The Andromeda Strain - avoid the new one. It got a politically correct make over. The Omega Man - again the original was the best. Edited January 4, 2014 by jamessavik 1
hh5 Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 I never saw the mini series Andromeda ... its that bad? did they make it to be like Virus movie?
JamesSavik Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I never saw the mini series Andromeda ... its that bad? did they make it to be like Virus movie? they made it environmentally conscious whereas in the original book, the military was trying to get a devastating biological weapon from space and got way more than they bargained for. The remake (re-imagining) made it lame.
Sasha Distan Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 why do i get the feeling that this is going to make the idea worse and not better?
