Hunga Tonga Massive Eruption

The island nation of Tonga was devastated by a tsunami triggered by the eruption of Hunga Tonga volcano. This volcano has built a huge seamount and islands. The islands appear to have been destroyed by a massive blast estimated to be a VEI (Volcanic Explosivity Index) of 4 and possibly even a 5. It is the most powerful eruption since Mount Pinatubo erupted thirty years ago.
