After floating into any number of arms, etc., Hunter seems to be finally settling down, becoming actually grounded. It is no longer just what works for the moment, he is finally looking at the possibility of a future, not just what or who is next. Miguel also wants a future, staying in Colombia is just not going to do it for him. He needs to breathe, to feel free, and actually have a feeling of both peace and security. It is those needs, a future, peace, security, perhaps love, that draws them together. They really do want the same thing, and that may well be enough, for them to achieve it.
There are a lot more chapters to reveal the path. My guess is they make it, because they both want it.
