Dracula is one of my favorite books.l first read it in the 5th grade l think.Og course l already knew the Universal and Hammer films . I don't mind romantic or sympathetic vampires.Dark Shadows was my favorite show.But Dracula was never a tragic antihero to me.HE was a villain who revealed in it.ln my current story black magic brings him to life from the novel and he possessed a mortal host,gaining knowledge of the present from him.he is revived after the death of the mage that evoked him.

I read all of most of this a year or two ago before l joined the site. I liked it though l generally don't go for softening Dracula into a romantic figure as in the novel he was rather brutal and cruel.l did appreciate the continuation of the Harker line as most sequals to Stoker focus on descendants of Van Helsing though in the book he had no surviving blood eirs.my favorite 'sequal' was Marvels Tomb of Dracula comic (1972-1980).

ImHello,my name is Ken.l live in southeast Florida.lm retired on disability now.l used to draw and paint.l.did illustrations for the one book l did get published a couple of years ago though l haven't done any art in quite awhile.l still write to pass the time, mainly attempts at a sexual dealing with the brother of the heroine of the first book , a cop in the early 80's in the Bronx.He faced a vampire unleashed in the first book, finding himself newly cursed as a werewolf. Im 64 and live alone since my corenter passed in July.My partner of 24 years left 14 years ago when l lost my house.But we kept in touch until he passed 4 years back. even though we separated l still miss him.lve never been very social so l haven't had contact with anyone gay in years.l was always too shy to go out where l could meet people gay or straight.Now, l physically can't even get to the door of my house and only my sister comes over to help when she can.

The story is off to a good start.the scene and characters are being sketched in well as the first hint of the supernatural begin to appear.

I enjoyed the story.l also read the opening of Grithens origin.l lived through the 80's but remained pretty solitary.l still am.l just lost my corenter who was a friend l knew my entire life.l suppose l liked the family angle best as most of mine is gone now .My parents died in the 80s as did my oldest brother.My middle brother lives upstate so l don't hear much from he or my nefews.My sister is still nearby thankfully since lm bedridden now.My partner left 14 years ago and passed 4 years ago l miss him .Grithens origin in 80's New York appealed to me as my one published novel tales place in the Hudson Valley in 1982.The third book lm still struggling with is set in the Bronx that year and involves vampires though nastier ones than yours One ,however, is one of the heroes .(They are a gay couple).
