  1. Two man with vastly different life experiences, one gay and one nominally straight, who happen to be ex brothers in law, with complicated family stuations between them... what problems could there possibly be?
  2. Thanks @dboggs9700, I had intended to publish part two next week, but I think I'll get it out there tomorrow. Dan and Rami might look like the coast is clear, but there are some unanticipated obstacles that make Linda the realtor look easy.
  3. There's definitely more to come. I hope you'll enjoy it.
  4. Thanks @Carybr. There are to more installments of the story to come.
  5. Rami is a home stager, selling the illusion of perfection. His ex brother-in-law Dan is everything he's not supposed to want: too big, too hairy, too straight, too... Dan. But working together with one sweaty week to get Dan's house on the market proves to Rami that the best things in life can't be curated.
  6. Chapter 1: Good Bones I didn’t need to wait for Dan to let me in. My thumb moved automatically to the keypad on the side door, punching in the code I hadn’t used in two years. 2-0-2-0. The year they were married. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. The heavy mechanical bolt disengaged with a groan. KA-CHUNK. I stepped inside. The silence hit me harder than the heat. It was weird. I’d spent holidays here, birthdays, awkward Sunday dinners where I watched my sister shrink to fit into

It does change the dynamic a bit, doesn't it?

Thanks for reading and commenting, @VBlew. Glad the flip worked!

Thanks @dboggs9700 I’m so glad you enjoyed the story. I don’t have a follow up planned, but I have a longer story coming tomorrow you may enjoy, A Two Man Job. Joe

    The Fit

Sam has cajoled and coaxed Max, and with the big day finally coming, he's footing the bill for a suit at a high-end menswear boutique. What neither counted on was the sleek salesman with the talented mouth offering one a very private fitting—while the other waits outside the dressing room door.

    The Fit

Chapter One: Butch Blooms The late afternoon sun reflected off the glass storefronts of the Mission with a glare that made Sam squint. He looked at the sign above the door: Butch Blooms. He wiped his palms on the thighs of his Carhartts, letting out a low, preemptive grumble. Sam had never even heard of this place until Max got it in his head that it was where he wanted to buy his suit for the big day. Sam assumed they’d go to a big department store—somewhere with fluorescent lig
  12. I think maybe his hands did what his mind couldn't.
  13. Thanks, friend. Those are great questions. Avery already dismissed the clients he was courting, and has nowhere to live. But he's a smart guy and I'm sure can figure out a living situation. I trust Steven will be sore, but still needs Avery.
  14. It's a pretty fast read so shouldn't take you long at all. As for where things are heading... I sometimes say you know in every one of his movies James Bond will be alive at the end... the entertainment is in how he gets there. 🤞
  15. 13. The Tire Thumper We spill into the bedroom, kissing, tangling, grasping. Dino nearly trips over the rug, laughing breathlessly as he catches himself on the bedpost. "Shirt," I say, grabbing the hem of his blue polo. "Off. I want to see you." He lifts his arms, obedient, and I yank the fabric up and over his head, tossing it blindly into the corner. There he is. The mat of rust-colored hair on his chest, the broad shoulders, the soft, pale curve of his stomach an
  16. I was going to say something... but will bide my time.
  17. Thanks for giving it a shot, @peter rietbergen We conclude tomorrow.
  18. Just FWIW the park in the story is in the well established gay neighborhood and there has always been cruising there, but it isn't much bothered by the police. But I think Dino had enough reason to be freaked out by it, especially having kids.
  19. Maybe one of the downsides of being an excellent planner, which Avery is, is starting to actually believe the plan is real.
  20. Thank you @akascrubber. I don't know how many surprises are possible, but I hope there will be something unexpected.
  21. Mike Tyson said "Everyone has a plan 'till they get punched in the mouth"
  22. Thanks @dachcr! Part two is up, and I hope you enjoy it.
  23. 6. Armor "Ready to come down?" Dino asks. He hops off the pedestal first, his boots hitting the grass with a heavy thud. He turns and offers me a hand again. This time, I take it. His grip is warm and steady as I slide down from the granite, my sneakers nearly silent against the damp earth. We join the slim stream of others drifting onto the paved path into the park. We pass a couple sitting on a bench, wrapped in a single oversized coat, murmuring things we can’t hear but ca
