The Second Amendment was created so that the American government or an invading force would have trouble harming the citizens of America.... And england played a big role in this since they banned firearms in our colony at a point when many needed it to survive.... as part of a crackdown post the original teaparty... i think... if i remember correctly... The American Government and Army especially is strong enough and powerful enough that Any "new" Revolution would be as disasterious as the Assad Cracking down on Revolutionaries (ie Revolters would be bombed and dead) However There are still those who hunt to supliment the groceries... (who have a hard time making ends meet otherwise)...And Gun volience deaths get the biggest headlines outside the country because we have them... We still have many multiple other types of Crimes... that are carried out that include deaths... after all for instance... Most serial killers don't use guns... Spoucal/child abuse that ends in death don't include guns... Bombings don't include guns... any society that allows a deadly weapon will have problems with that weapon... and any society that is a democracy will have a hard time removing said laws....

I feel sorry for Nyx and Ellia, at least Shay had his history, and Mira had Shay, not to mention both had our Russian Friend... Nyx and Elia only have each other.... and now they are seperated... I do not presume to think that Elia is dead, it didn't sound like she was... yet... overwelmed yes...dead no.... actually i am frankly surprised given the fact of genetics and such that there are only 2 guardians and such on that world.... after all it was 200 years ago when the whole thing happened, and while it is true that the lady's family could have been overwelmed any time between now and then... it would have had to happen within the last 2 generations since all that Mira and she remember is being a critter and barely do they remember that. Besides which... i have the feeling people started killing themselves after 2 generations before the change took them... just guessing from the Dynamic of that world. Also Stephen's Giant Aphid analogy is kind of how i picture it too... a big black insect.... although it could look like a shadow ship from Babylon 5... (which makes me think of a giant crab or spider (more the second than the first)) Also I like Rashid... especially after his confession.... and yes from a Religious point of view i could very much See him seeing Shay as Angelic verses a Demon. Lets face it, Science or mystical, once you have that kind of power it practically equates to the same thing. Power doesn't nessarilly go to your head, if you have the power you use it... it's your morals that determine how you use it. And really Mira bottomed did he you didn't go much into that... however it somehow does not surprise me really. However it wouldn't surprise me if he topped next time too lol. Because like Shay put it, why does one have to be the girl and the other the boy... and Mira just likes sex and loves Shay... i think ultimately it would be up to Shay if he bottomed or not... because Mira is the way he is.

Btw didn't you say in the previous book that 3 dna strands were used... the Administrator, the Guardian, and the... like the "adaptive/Reactive" one.. and if Shay is the Administrator, (and the only one since he was asleep and not in the gene pool for 200 years) And Mira's ancestor was a Guardian... I am guessing that all three were on Aurum (it wasn't very clear when i read the email sent to Shay... it sounded like at least one was on Earth) I am guessing that one of the girls is also decended from Mira's.... greatest grandmother. (I assume from her thoughts Nyx) and the other Elia is reactive... or is she another decendant of Grandma... (also what does Reactive do i'd really like to know) why do i also suddenly get the feeling that Humans and the Elder Aurmite Race are both caught up in a war that is much older than either of them.

yay! finally shay. counter to my counterparts, i don't find the killing of all those scientists and so on as saying much about shay considering what he has been through and what he get's like when his boyfriend is hurt, it wasn't that surprising.
