    Late August

An excellent first chapter. Your main character drew me in right away, as did the premise. I'm looking forward to reading more of this one.
  2. Gee Whillickers

    Chapter 23

Thanks! I've been thinking about a possible sequel for a while, even jotted down a few story notes, but nothing solid yet. We'll see. Thanks for reading.
  3. Gee Whillickers

    Chapter 23

Thanks Stephen. It was nice to hear all the thoughts and comments from everyone, those who have read it before and, of course, those who came across it for the first time.
  4. Gee Whillickers

    Chapter 23

Thanks! I'm really glad you liked it. As for the ending, yeah, a bit of surprise there.
  5. Gee Whillickers

    Chapter 23

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, and I'm glad you liked the ending.

    Chapter 23

They arrived at the lab and made their way down to the superposition room. Without power in the facility it was a bit more difficult, especially with Andrew's wound slowing him down. It was slow and the use of flashlights was obviously necessary once below ground. It had occurred to Craig that they were actually in the superposition field as soon as they arrived in the parking lot, but then he realized that it would likely be much easier and faster to already be in the room when they translate

    Chapter 22

Thanks! Yeah a lot happened there. And they're still not out of the woods.
  8. Gee Whillickers

    Chapter 17

Yes, and of course the question for them now is what are they going to do about it?
  9. Gee Whillickers

    Chapter 22

Agreed. To think there are people who go about their life thinking this way. And some of them have considerable influence and power.

    Chapter 22

Music. They all heard it at the same moment. Music was playing. It was coming from the open door to an office about halfway down the hallway branching off from the lobby. They all froze and looked at each other. Craig started moving first, followed by the other three boys. Craig was sure it must be Dr. Cornish. He hoped that he would help them. He also unsnapped his holster and checked his clip one more time as he walked in the direction of the office. Maybe it was the volume of the music,

    Chapter 21

Thanks! Yeah, battling nature and the elements is one thing, but people, well, that's a whole other issue.

    Chapter 16

Thanks. It was interesting trying to find the right balance between explaining in depth and getting bogged down with boring details.
  13. Gee Whillickers

    Chapter 20

Yup, that was the easy part, so far.

    Chapter 21

Finding an appropriate vehicle turned out to be more of a challenge than they had anticipated. This was a small town airport. The disappearance happened in the middle of the night. There were a few vehicles available in the vicinity but keys needed to be located for them. They ended up leaving some of the gear in the plane and loading some of the essentials into a minivan and a Honda Civic, the only vehicles that both started easily and for which keys could be found. Craig drove the Civic, and

    Chapter 20

It took a week and three days. A full ten days of their precious and dwindling time. But there was so much to do. Joel and Jamie practiced their shooting, then a discussion led to the inclusion of a few select more powerful weapons, just in case, and all four needed practice with these, both shooting and field maintenance. Ammunition needed to be sorted out as well. Supplies, including food, needed to be found and packed. Craig and Jamie spent much of the time at the airstrip. They had found a
