Nice story, but can you answer one question? I might have overlooked something, because English is not my mother tongue, but I really don't know how this might have happened: How did the bad guys know when to hold Mitch and his family hostage? Did they wait in front of his house until Trace phoned? If they had moved in as soon as Trace vanished without a trace (sorry, I couldn't resist), Mitch's colleagues would have smelled a rat.
