At first, Desmond thought that Gabriel was playing along with Sam, trying to convince him that Sam didn't say anything. Desmond didn't realize that Gabriel wasn't lying (making stuff up for joke's sake). So when Gabriel asked, "Am I lying to you right now?" he realized that he didn't sense a lie, so he thought that the blast messed up his lie-detecting ability. Then he realized that his lie-detecting wasn't affected, so he started realizing that something wasn't right, and got a bad feeling about it. PS. I re-read my answer & good God, I am bad with words today... I blame cinematography! /goes back to watching the movie 😐

Nah, you get used to it fairly quickly. Just have to remember not to talk out loud in public places and... Oh, wait... You meant Desmond...

In order to set everything up & to make it work there has to be attuning. Like logging into your FB account but failing to log out -- someone would be able to wreck havoc but only if the password is in. True, but to be honest, you have Specter & Salamander working on something together, you stay out of the way 😎 Maybe... 😶

- XXV - He dialed the same number again and got the exact same result as the last fifty or so times – no answer. “Fuck!” he screamed and threw his phone onto the dashboard. He flew into the parking lot of the hospital and brought the car to a screeching halt in front of the main entrance. He left the keys in the ignition and got out without shutting the door. One of the security guards marched up to him with a very clear ‘What the hell do you think you doing?’ expression on his

Not unlimited, just expandable. Also there is no guarantee what (and how many for that matter) abilities would develop. But since she had none whatsoever, that was secondary to her. "Will get whatever, work on add-ons later."

I don't know about unlimited...errr... I mean, I don't know 🤐

- XXIV - Desmond flicked his cigarette out of the window, sighed, and flashed his headlights a couple of times when he saw a familiar figure come out of the hospital’s main entrance. “I am not driving to the entrance,” he thought with dark satisfaction. “Just walk your blond ass over here...” He watched Salamander walk towards the car, and sighed again when he remembered his conversation with Gabriel twenty minutes or so ago. “Rayhe,” Desmond was saying in what he thought sounded l

- XXIII - “Rayhe...” Gabriel rolled his eyes and took a deep breath. “Des, just do it! He was right, and you know it. I am sorry, I can’t go with you! Today is actually one of those days when I have to be at work, and I told you that already...! Fifty times...!” “Goddammit, Rayhe!” “Des, just do it! Go there, tell him to hurry up with whatever exchange he is doing...” “He is not going to hurry it up, and you know it! That thing takes time!” “Well, he only has un

- XXII - “There is a good chance it will work,” the blond said thoughtfully after Desmond finished talking. He glanced at Raven. “We will start on it first thing in the morning because I am not letting you go anywhere until then.” Raven gave him a slow smile and muttered something Desmond failed to hear. He figured he didn’t really want to know what it was after the blond’s eyes immediately became hungry. He watched Julian take his phone out again. The blond called for a cab, snapp

- XXI - Desmond stood by the back of the couch, watching Salamander explaining Gabriel what he wanted him to do. Desmond didn’t really care; all he knew was that it had something to do with magic streams. Finally, Gabriel nodded rather stiffly, and then both of them half-closed their eyes in the eerily identical manner. Desmond watched them with mild interest, noting the fact that they both stood completely still. Suddenly, Raven stirred on the couch, and said without opening his eyes:

She can't use any streams, so she had to set up channeling. Took her a while 😐

- XX - Julian got to the right house, paid the cab driver, and walked up the steps. He wasn’t surprised that his hands were shaking. It’s been almost two weeks since Raven’s disappearance, and it seemed like Magda managed to melt into thin air – Julian could find nothing. When he got that phone call several hours ago, at first, he thought that it was some demented joke that Magda decided to play on him just for the hell of it. Right when he was about to unleash his dark fury, however

- XIX - When he woke up, the room was bathing in sunlight. He blinked and glanced around, thankful for the fact that the chills were gone and he didn’t shake as bad as before. He propped himself on one elbow and reached for the water bottle. He drank some water, and then regretfully put the bottle away, remembering Desmond’s warning. He felt slightly nauseous, but it was nothing compared to what he felt yesterday. “Was it yesterday?” he thought with a small frown. “Yeah, probably... It

- XVIII - It was first Sunday of April, and Desmond Rae – a thirty-three-year-old military school instructor – was enjoying his walk in a light, lazy breeze, thinking that he still had one week of vacation ahead of him. Usually, April break would only last one week; this year, however, the break had one delicious extra week prolonging it. Desmond wasn’t quite sure why (had something to do with the school board), and he didn’t really care. He had one more week of lazy bliss ahead, and t

- XVII - “Hey...! Hey, can you hear me...? Come on...” Raven let out a low moan and slowly opened his eyes. He was thirsty as hell. He had no idea what happened, and he had no idea where he was. “Oh, good,” the same voice said with relief. “I know that you are not in any kind of pain right now, but I also know that you would probably kill for some water, huh...? Here...” There was something pressing against his mouth, and then he felt cool liquid on his lips. He growled and

- XVI - Julian was pleasantly surprised when he managed to get out of the office at his usual time – 7:30, instead of much later as he thought he would. The entire thing didn’t take much time at all – just several papers to scan and sign, a couple of interviews, and creating a few new files in the database. He got back home just a little before eight, noting that the lights in the bedroom were on, threw his keys on the small table by the front door, and went into the kitchen. He grab

- XV - “I didn’t know if she knew about you and magic,” Raven said ten minutes after Julian started driving. “Therefore, I didn’t say anything... Can you get us back via spell instead of driving?” Julian threw him a quick look and smiled his usual way, as if appreciating the fact that Raven kept his mouth shut. “No,” he said with audible regret. “I am not that good, unfortunately.” “I see,” Raven sighed and leaned on the back of the seat. He lit a cigarette and handed it to

Hmm, interesting thought... Could be, could be indeed...

- XIV - It was three months later, and Raven was deliriously happy, unbelievably frustrated, and disgusted with himself all at the same time. Happy was clear – he and the blond clicked together so much that it seemed unreal. When Raven moved into the house, almost every single staff member’s expression read identical, “Oh, God, now there are two of them...!” Raven couldn't care less about that, however. Julian kept his word (as he always did), and he wouldn’t go anywhere (where sex wou

- XIII - When Raven woke up, it was almost eleven in the morning. He blinked several times, chasing sleep away from his hazy eyes, and then he noticed Julian’s arm wrapped around his waist. He thought of last night, and an unwilling smile snaked across his lips. He thoughtfully looked at the peacefully snoozing blond, trying to figure out whether he wanted him to wake up or to stay asleep. Then he frowned, realizing that usually, at this time, Julian would be in one of his offices for

He does. He just doesn't care.
