Prolly both.

- V - We got maybe three or four hours of sleep that night, and when Faith's alarm went off, I almost threw it into the wall. She reached for it blindly and shut it off. "I gotta get up..." she muttered. "No way," I said and pulled her closer. "It's my freaking birthday and you are staying home today... That'll be my present." I expected her to say something in her usual sarcastic manner, and when she didn't, I looked at her with astonishment. "You feeling all right?" I

- IV - Two or so hours later, we were in the back seat of my car, and we were completely out of breath. I laid my head in Faith's lap and closed my eyes when she started stroking my hair. I thought that we'd have to go back in fifteen minutes or so, and almost growled at the thought. "Hey, does Amy look strange to you lately?" she asked me suddenly, and I opened my eyes. "Who?" I asked with confusion and looked up at her. "Amy," she said. "Amy Bauer?" "Who the hell is A

- III - I drove straight to Faith's house, thinking that I could skip the first class, because I knew that Faith didn't have anything until almost ten in the morning. For some strange reason, I started thinking about the whale, and it occurred to me that I still didn't know her actual name. I think Faith called her Ally. Or maybe it was Annie? Ah, who cares. I was surprised that I didn't have a slightest desire to harass her now. I mean, it was like when I fell for Faith head over heel

- II - At first, I thought that things would cool off right after we slept together. That's usually what happens, right? Yeah, not with us. It seemed like we couldn't get enough of each other. I hated every minute I had to spend away from Faith. Sometimes I would tell her to call in sick or something, and I would just skip a day or two, no big deal. I mean, it happened before; everyone is used to me skipping school by now. The first time I said it, Faith just gave me a look. "Right," s

Part II LUKE - I - I couldn't believe my eyes. And I thought this year would be boring! There she was, standing by Williamson, uncomfortably shuffling her feet, huge as a whale. My day got so much brighter -- you have no idea! Okay, before I go on, let me clarify something. I am an asshole. I know that I am an asshole. Everyone else in the world knows that I am an asshole. I don't care. It makes life interesting. If you are judging me right now, go ahead. I don't give a damn!

- VIII - Luke never came to school the next day, and I was wondering if he left for Minnesota with Faith. I couldn't believe how much it bothered me. I couldn't concentrate on anything that day. And then next morning, when he actually showed up, I felt such enormous relief that I almost started laughing. Roxy poked me in the side, and when I looked at her, she mouthed angrily, "Stop it!" I sighed and pulled my notebook out of my backpack. Luke slammed his book on the desk and sat d

Agreed. She isn't really concerned about that though.
-
- VII - We sat down on the bench that was the farthest from everybody else, and I took a deep breath. "Roxy," I said slowly. "You have to swear that you will not repeat this to anyone else!" "I swear," she frowned. "What is it?" "Not to your parents, not to your brother, not to your priest!" "Got it," she nodded. "I swear. What is it? You are freaking me out!" I took another deep breath. "Okay, here goes... Roxy, I think Russell and Connor are having an affair!"

You gonna laugh but he really was sick 🤒

- VI - I couldn't believe it when by Thanksgiving, I lost almost sixty pounds. I could run for almost an hour now, and I did it every night. I wouldn't eat anything but salads, fruits, yogurts, and sometimes, a plain toast or two. I would never eat anything after six in the evening; I would only drink water. I haven't touched soda since September, and I would not even look at ice-cream even if it was fat-free. I was two hundred pounds now. "Just eighty or so to go..." I muttered, s

Do they ever listen? No 😐

- V - That night I almost asked my mother what would happen if a teacher and a student would get romantically involved, but then thought better of it. My mother would immediately think that I had some insane crush on one of my teachers, and no matter how hard I would try to convince her otherwise, she'd never believe me. And since I didn't have any friends, I did the next best thing I could think of -- I went on internet. After a couple of hours of research, I knew that if the stud

Actually no -- it really was an accident 😎

- IV - The next day was so uneventful and almost dull that I was amazed. At first, I expected something nasty to happen to me again, but then I realized that Russell hadn't come to school today, and I almost fell on my knees, praying to Lord Almighty. It was really bizarre how without Russell around, nobody paid any attention to me. Like without him and his idiotic jokes, people couldn't care less about my very existence. I was enormously happy with that, and only hoped that maybe Russ

- III - The rest of the day was relatively peaceful. Russell did make snorting noises when I walked by his desk, but I ignored him. I decided that from now on, no matter what he did, I would not react. I hoped that sooner or later, he'd get bored and leave me alone. Math class was the last one today, and when I walked in, there was the principal again. At first, I hoped that he came to announce that Russell was leaving for a military school, and that everyone should say their good-byes

- II - The main hyena wasn't lying. Gym indeed was next. I thought about going to the nurse and telling her that I wasn't feeling well (which was partially true), but then I figured that even if I got out of the today's class -- the nurse would take a single look at me and sign a release paper -- I would have to go there eventually. Might as well just suffer through it, and hopefully, soon enough, everyone will get used to me and not even notice me anymore. Sometimes I wished I could b

AMY - I - You know how there is always one person nobody likes and everyone ridicules? It's not just a misfit -- misfits usually hang out together. No, that person is a total loner, loser, beyond annoying, and sometimes, disgustingly fat. Not cheerleader-opinion-fat -- 120 pounds -- no, that person is fat fat. Like 260 with a height of 5'3. Yeah. Seriously, you look at her and you want to gouge your eyes out. But then you think, hey, why would I make myself suffer? I'll just make h

17-year-old Amy Bauer moves into a different house with her mother, to a different state, and the worst of all -- a different school. Amy is overweight & her self-esteem gets lower & lower with each passing day. Then on her first day of school, she sees HIM -- the guy she knows she'll hate for the rest of her life, Luke Russell, "The Leader of the Hyena Pack."

EPILOGUE 2 Years Later RAYNE I will be the happiest person in the world once this whole ordeal is over with, I swear. Yeah, it’s supposed to be the happiest day of my life, yada-yada-yada… Bite me! I critically looked at myself in the mirror. Okay, not too bad, okay… The damn zit that I was freaking out about for the last three days was gone, thank God. I swear, that thing was huge! If it grew just a little more, I could’ve named it or something. The door opened and Jess ca

- XXVI - I spent the whole night in that waiting room. I even managed to get several hours of sleep in one of the larger chairs. Finally, around 8:30 in the morning, I went into the lobby and walked up to the receptionist desk. “Can I see Rayne Jennah?” I asked. “Just a minute,” she muttered and typed something in her computer. “Yeah,” she nodded finally. “It looks like they moved her onto a different floor a couple of hours ago… Room five-seventeen.” “Thanks,” I breathed a

- XXV - It was several hours later, after I’ve been checked, poked, and probed for God knows how many times. Finally, they let me go after realizing that there was indeed nothing wrong with me. The doctor, who was in charge of me, just kept shaking his head and saying some crap about miracles. “Son,” he repeated for probably a hundredth time. “You were born under a very lucky star! Not a single broken bone! Not even a sprained wrist! It’s a miracle!!” I had a very strong desire

- XXIV - “I choose…” I said slowly. “...to be free…” She slightly lowered her head just like before, as if encouraging me to continue. “...of you,” I finished. She looked at me, and this time, I could see confusion drawing a small wrinkle in the middle of her alabaster forehead. “I beg your pardon?” she said. “I was looking forward to it,” I muttered. “Couldn’t wait, really… It sounded like everything I ever wished for… But now, looking at you…” I shrugged. “I don’t

If they know that her insurance lapsed, the insurance company ain't gonna provide coverage no more 😁 That too.

Because it's the last case. She got hurt & has to make a choice. If she chooses to stay, then the 'couldn't die' rule won't apply to her anymore. She wouldn't be able to heal from her injuries -- not enough time. So if she stayed, she'd revert to her original self and wouldn't have Tribuo perks.
