    I have a very (VERY) general outline of the story. Each chapter just falls out of my head as I write. What happens, happens. The principal is in the closet as he would have to be back then. Not sure if I am going to give him a bigger role in the story. One of my best friends is an assistant principal at a small public school in the back woods of Massachusetts. He is out and proud - no problems with the community. Times sure have changed since the 1950-60s

    Tim returned home and immediately gave the letter to Ralph. While the boys played outside with the hula hoop the men discussed the implications. “I really and I mean really enjoy having the boys. If two days ago someone told me I would be a father let alone a father in a couple of days I would have laughed at the idea. But, this is no laughing matter. These boys need a loving home. I believe we can do it. I know we can do it. But, what is our next step. Can Mary just give the boys away.

    Rock-A-Bye Baby Ann Margaret Kowalski was born November 26, 1962. Bedroom nurseries were set up on both the first floor next to the girls’ bedroom and upstairs next to the boys’.     Thanks for the comment. This story is part autobiographical, part fantasy – almost all the sex is fantasy – did get it off back then but not to the extent in the story. The sex with the custodian was true and I was a cab driver at Put-in Bay, had a little sex, not like in the story.

    Uncle Will realized JB would never be able to return to Georgia. He had no interest in living there without JB. His family was in Ohio: Peter and Tom, Henry and Seth. He asked Peter to make arrangements to sell JB’s home. JB met with a lawyer in the town of Medina near the farm and arrangements were made to give Peter Power of Attorney to act on his behalf in the sale of his home and disposal of his property.     After the conclusion of his six months of training Peter returned to Columbus. Since he was starting his program at Ohio State he was only able to travel to Ft Knox one weekend to visit Tom. The nearly fourteen hour round trip was not an easy drive going through both Cincinnati, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky (today on Interstate highways not built in 1961 the round trip is less than eight hours).     Ralph arrived home from the army on a Tuesday afternoon. As soon as he could get away from his mother he called Tim. Tim told him he was really happy that he called. He suggested that Ralph stay home that evening and let his mother do her thing. He also told him that that was one of the hardest parts of coming home, having his mother gushing over him.     The final eight weeks of Tom’s training was BUT – Basic Unit Tactics. The second eight week session: AIT – Advanced Infantry Training had included advanced training and the introduction to various weapons including automatic rifles, bazookas, hand grenades and flame throwers as well as additional training with gas masks.     Tom continued his management training at Olentangy Insurance. Peter prepared for his departure to his U.S. Army Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Louise began preparation for her fall teaching assignment while Ann interviewed for substitute teaching positions at nearby school districts.     The story will now move back in time to the end of the summer after Uncle Will and JB’s departure for Europe. The girls told their parents they were moving into a room in a private home on a quiet street near the campus where friends had lived. They failed to mention that the friends were actually Tom and Peter still living there. One fall day in October Mrs. Gates, Ann’s mother, and a friend visited a fabric outlet store in Munroe Falls. They went to the front porch and sat on the swing (It was common at this time for homes to have a swing on the front or back porch.     If I make one guy happy, I'm happy. I am really enjoying writing this, my first. Actually Tom, Peter, Louise, Ann and all the others have become my friends. While I do have a general outline of the story plot the details just fall out of my head as I write. Thanks for reading - I have 8 more chapters roughly finished.     The trip from Kentucky to Ohio was uneventful. Upon arrival at Keith Klemen’s apartment in Columbus at about 4:00 in the afternoon Peter was warmly greeted by the doorman. He gave Peter a note from Keith and keys to the apartment. JB and Uncle Will were impressed with the penthouse apartment. The views toward Ohio countryside was spectacular.     They were on the way to Ohio by 8:00. BJ and Uncle Will kidded Peter about his hungover look. Peter assured them he had not consumed much alcohol and his woeful look resulted from activities that he was sure the two older men would approve.     Since Peter had agreed to model for the art class Will arranged a session for Tuesday evening. The class held at a private home outside of town consisted of five men and three women.     After working on film processing for almost two hours Peter called Henry to help him remove the screens. Henry had cleaned away the filth and cobwebs from the window areas. Removing the screens required one boy to hold it while the other unscrewed it.     Farm Rituals Peter and Tom visited the farm every weekend. Twice they brought Peter’s younger brother, Ronnie. Usually the boys including Ronnie would cool off at the swimming hole.     Boys of 1950s - I have little knowledge of Columbus, just sort of an accident that the story line turned to that area. So far I have written without an outline - stuff just happens as I type. I attended Ohio Wesleyan up the road 1956 - 60 (same years Tom and Peter were at Kent). Only visited Columbus a couple of times - that bar was total imagination - never visited a gay bar or any gay place until a years later after I moved to new England. Right now I am in Wroclaw Poland, will add the next chapter as soon as I resolve some issues on my personal computer. Now I am in Cactus Club, a gay cruise bar using their free internet.
