Due to my brother dropping out, I've now got a spare ticket to prom 70 at the Royal Albert Hall, 7pm Weds 7th Sept. Best seats I could get; the Grand Tier (you can see the sort of view here). Should be pretty good. Face value; £36. Sorry but can't accept any queerlings.

Actually 21st October was always on his predictions; 21st May was the Rapture, 21st October was the apocalypse...apparently he's not just decided to merge the two...No doubt the delaying of the rapture is because God appreciated their faith so much he decided to hold off so that they could 'save' more people The wonderful thing about faith; it can delay the apocalypse over and over again...

We also have stuff like Captain Jack in Torchwood/Dr Who who, while larger than life, is still a bisexual central character of a popular show, whose sexuality really is just something that is *there* and isn't made the centre of plots...which is pretty much as it should be.

Date: 8th November 2419 Location: MMV Noah, Unknown “How’s the uniform?” I asked Tarr’surn outside his quarters. It had been 48 hours since he had joined us, and had spent most of that time with Sii’nour, getting to know about the ship and the M Military. Now he stood in front of me wearing the Pallner version of an M uniform, identical to Sii’nour’s but with a blue bend signifying his Engineering specialisation instead of Sii’nour’s green Medical bend, awaiting the start of his first offi

Date: 7th April 2395 Location: City Subterrene, Europa Train cars sped past us as we walked along the tunnel, heading towards my old apartment building. Running from the port, this was one of the main artery lines, which ran to the heart of the City and to the central station. Every couple of hundred metres, a line would diverge from the main track and head off towards the outskirts of the city. Being just a couple of stops down the line, I had decided it would be just as easy to walk as t

Date: 7th November 2419 Location: MMV Noah, Unknown “According to Sii’nour, the Pallner society is made of two halves; the military and the civilians. The military monopolise every aspect of production and take the lions share, leaving the civilians to scavenge what is left. Understandably, the civilians harbour a lot of resentment to the military, but are unable to organise or fight back.” I informed her as we sat at the large table in her quarters. “The way I see it, if we can covertl

Date: 6th April 2395 Location: New Moscow Academy The last rays of the sun were just sinking below the trees as I sequenced myself a sandwich. I had just woken up and didn’t feel like anything too heavy; it wouldn’t be long until I took Aiden up to practice fighting, and eating anything more would likely result in time spent cleaning out the cockpit later. Propping the pillow up into the corner, I sat on my bed and pulled the sheets back over my legs. The sandwich was, as all were, than

Date: 7th November 2419 Location: MMV Noah, Unknown “Shuttles Able and New Light, you are cleared for launch,” the controller called over the radio from the main control room. “Bravo wing, you are clear for takeoff and exit via hatch 8.” Given the valuable cargo that would soon be aboard, I had decided to assign all the operational Blades we currently had to escort the two shuttles to the Lahstey. The plan hinged on getting the computer components back to Noah, and to a lesser extent, t

Date: 6th April 2395 Location: New Moscow Academy “I think I’ve shot just about enough for today,” Lark complained from behind me as I fired another round to the side of the target. “I don’t think the Corporal likes me very much.” Behind him, the Corporal was muttering about why he was always the one who ended up with the newbies who can’t shoot straight. Though I still remembered what had actually happened, I also remembered that I had shot terribly, barely being able to hit the targe

Date: 4th November 2419 Location: MMV Noah, Unknown “Most of her systems have been ripped out, probably been looted by the other pirate ships.” Bodgit briefed me as we walked through the charred corridors of our latest prize. There wasn’t an undamaged panel in sight, we could only see thanks to torches, and the foul odour present on the small pirate ship we captured before hung chokingly in the air. “Fortunately, we’ve learned a lot from the Pallner technicians over the last few months and

Date: 6th April 2395 Location: New Moscow Academy I lay on the rear of my Cutthroat, looking up at the trees above and listening to the gentle roar of the waterfall. I had been working recently on using my neural link and basic augmentations to remote control my fighter; I was now able to hold it in position with ease beneath me, maintaining its location 20 feet above the pool of water. I figured that if I did lose control, I wouldn’t have too far to fall and the water wouldn’t be too hard

Date: 3rd November 2419 Location: MMV Noah, Unknown As they had done before when Snr. Crewman Long tried inserting one of the computer modules, it glowed a pale white colour and lights began to flash all over it. After a few seconds, the lights froze and a message appeared on a nearby monitor stating the module’s serial numbers and requesting an authorisation code. Every time I had tried with my code, all three of the modules had immediately shut down, without so much as an error message.

Date: 5th April 2395 Location: New Moscow Academy “Thor, have you seen Marshall anywhere?” Griff asked with an anxious edge, as he opened the door to our room, finding only myself on my bed. “I might have,” I replied sharply. “But I’m not sure he’d like you to know where he is right now.” Frankly, I was annoyed with Griff for making me fight Aiden, especially given his obvious lack of fighting skill, and I didn’t particularly want to talk to him either. “Come on, Jones; don’t be an

Date: 3rd November 2419 Location: MMV Noah, Unknown I realised I had made a good choice of Admiral almost immediately. My suspicions were confirmed when she arranged to speak with the Pallner ambassador as soon as my debriefing was over. “Well, Commander, I have to say you have done a remarkable job under exceptional circumstances. Not only have you brought the ship through the initial accident, but you have done so with a clearly immature crew and on top of that, made contact with the

Date: 5th April 2395 Location: New Moscow Academy I was exhausted when I got back to my room. It appeared that the mysterious Aiden had been and gone; a different variety of things were now strewn over the bed and floor around it. I had been at the range for over five hours, shooting targets over and over again until the Corporal finally let me leave. I had to admit that it was much less tedious than when I did the course at school, and the Corporal definitely knew what he was talking

Date: 5th April 2419 Location: MMV Noah, Unknown It took several seconds to realise that I was still alive. Opening my eyes, I looked outside to where the large enemy ship had previously sat. All that was now there was a field of debris. As I watched, a number of bright green beams appeared from out of my field of view, destroying the small ships which had been retreating from Noah. “Major, you should get up here.” A voice crackled over the radio. “What is it, Corporal?” The Colonel

Date: 3rd April 2395 (Presumed) Location: Northeast Sector Medical Facility (Presumed) I awoke lying on a bed in a darkened room. Looking around, it quickly became apparent that it was a medical facility recovery room, from the ‘comforting’ furniture. I felt fine, better, in fact, than I had ever felt, but something was different. Looking around, everything seemed sharper, more in focus. I could hear sounds from in the corridor of people going about their business, faintly but clearly.

Date: 5th April 2419 Location: MMV Noah, Unknown “They appear to be the same ships that attacked us,” Sii’nour said, while scuttling around the table holding one of the alien corpses. “We were here investigating the sector for a potential mining operation when they attacked us without provocation. The Lahstey was just a scout ship, our weapons were minimal. We fought them off once but couldn’t hold them off the second time. From how you found it, it seems that once we had crashed into the

Date: 2nd April 2395 Location: Orbital-Three, Orbiting Europa A sharp electric shock shot through my body when the wire was removed from behind my right ear. The last seven hours had been spent having my memories and recollections of the last few days being downloaded and poured over in detail; every miniscule thing questioned and checked. The security teams knew more about my thoughts from my time aboard the Tallinn than I did, and I hoped that they were now more certain of my actions

Date: 4th April 2419 Location: MMV Noah, Unknown A beautiful chorus came when the alien opened its mouth, filling the cloning facility like an amphitheatre. Sounds no human could ever hope to create, streaming forth in a gentle flow, delicately changing pitch and volume to create the most incredible sounds I had ever heard. “Hello.” I said gently as it lay in the cloning pod, it’s song immediately halting. “You know who I am, you’re safe.” Another aria came when the being replied, bu

Date: 1st April 2395 Location: Inshell Asteroid Field, 30 billion KM from Europa Colony “Hey Thor, how’s she handling?” Griff asked over the comm link connecting the four fighters flying in formation. “Great, it feels like I just took off from Europa.” I replied. The flight crews were well experienced at fixing battle damaged fighters and had done an excellent job replacing the engine that had been destroyed during the fight. “We’re coming up to the debris field now. We’ll engage one

Date: 4th April 2419 Location: MMV Noah, Unknown “What is going on? Report!” I called out in the pitch-black control room. It had been five minutes since the alien brain was attached to the computer system, and suddenly all power had just vanished; even the emergency lighting was offline. “I don’t know, sir. I don’t have anything.” A voice called from the darkness. I tried to raise Bodgit over the Net but every time I tried to connect, I was blocked out. Reaching under my seat, I pul

Date: 4th December 2418 Location: MMV Noah, docked at Europa Colony Shipyard The months of preparation didn’t prepare Captain Pavlov for the sight that met him as he entered the ship’s bridge. Though massive in scale it was the main window that took his breath away. Starting at the front of the lower bridge and sloping all the way to the roof of the upper section, and curving gracefully around the rounded front, it commanded an incredible view of the Europa dry dock, and Jupiter beyond. Date: 1st April 2395 Location: MMV Tallinn “Not a bad job, Cadet.” The Flight Chief commented as he inspected the rebuilt Cutthroat. It had taken nearly seven hours with the help of two of the ship’s mechanics, most taken up with the rewiring and computer setup. Very little of the internal systems could be salvaged, about the only things remaining were the chassis and chair but finally it was done. “Thank you, Sir. I couldn’t have done it without Crewmen Prefect and Lister’s assistance.

Date: 2nd April 2419 Location: MMV Noah, Unknown My head pounded when I opened my eyes, the dimmed lights above me still far too bright for my mind to take. A buzzing sound from the sequencer indicated it was creating something and the beep in the back of my mind prevented me from falling back to sleep. The throbbing intensified when I sat up and it felt like my head would explode when I stumbled across to the sequencer. With each sip of the orange fluid that had materialised instead of
