Shawn slips, falls, and dies, but his mind is transferred to himself in an alternative universe. The humans in this universe are far in advance of what he knew. Merged with an AI system, Shawn must explore this seemingly utopian world as he goes off to college only to discover a dystopian reality and military dictatorship. He was given a system that allows him certain skills or abilities and lets him improve those the more he uses the system, similar to a video game; some involve sex. Will he be able to level up fast enough to save himself, his new friends, and potentially the human race? Or, could the stakes be even higher than that?

Thanks! I just submitted the first chapter of another story, so I think that means I will need to wait another 24 hrs before submitting the next chapter here. Reputation's up to 132 so it'll be another few weeks before I'm strictly limited to one a day. Meanwhile, we'll return to Luke's regularly scheduled program in the chapter after next. I will note that I'm not the best with red herrings, mostly out of an interest of being efficient with text length. That said, I'm trying to be better at that as I grow as a writer. That's about as vague-cific as I'll be here.

Thanks. I might still do it the first time it's mentioned, or first time in a chapter, but I'll tone it down significantly. I was always a big fan of Unicode characters, dating back at least to when my Spanish teachers would print their text and manually put in the accents and tildes whereas I knew how to do it in the computer.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I should stick with the Greek characters for him and other alphabets for the other gods. I was going to do it first-time use only, then decided if I was using them as a proper noun I'd use the spelling in that alphabet, but now I'm not so sure as I finished up ch. 15 last night. Then I thought I'd do it for everyone but 兔兒神 [Tu'er Shen], but then that seemed racist. Any suggestion there?

Thanks! Ch 7–8 are more about Luke and getting him to the for-real start of his journey, while 9 will focus on Zeke and add a lot to his backstory in a hopefully not cheesy way. As noted in the improperly formatted post script, Fornondag is an anagram, and if you've ever played one of the most highly rated video games of all time (≠best-selling), you might figure out where this is going. Or, at least have a very, very cursory overview of where this is going or the themes involved. I'm also gonna guess that "Mary Zelenskyy" is an autocorrect flub?

He was pretty high... up on a mountain. I live in Colorado, but I honestly didn't think of that as a drug trip. That said, ch. 6 is in the moderation queue! Or, I guess I'd be remiss to note it's also on my Patreon, where I'm about to also post ch. 8.
