  1. Thanks guys, I'm really surprised by the answer, as it's a story I've read a couple of times and just didn't remember. When I've finished reading the current story I'll re-read it. I was wandering whether to mention if the story contained a character who ran a Subway, but thought I was getting my stories mixed up.
  2. I was just looking for Eternity earlier today and presumed it had been taken down prior to publication - which has happened to several stories I had bookmarked. Google pointed me to this thread when I thought to do a search; glad to find out where the story went and I'm looking forward to the new version becoming available.
  3. Such a thought did cross my mind, having found other really good stories have disappeared for similar reasons. The next thought that occurred was, when you find a really good story you know you will want to read again, download a copy and keep it! Thanks for the information.
  4. Thanks for your help. With the book titles, I've found the books now on Amazon UK and also for Kindle. A previous search of the author-name didn't fnd them.
  5. Thanks for the information. Disappointed though, the same thing happened with Love Turns the Pages a while back. But, having looked through the Dreamspinner titles, I didn't see anything that struck me as beong the story I was looking for. Can the stories be bought in the UK or for Kindles?
  6. Thanks people, makes sense now.
  7. Jack Scribe's Desert Fantasies is a good story, but not the one I was looking for. As said above, the one I'm after involves a young guy running from a gay-unfriendly home and he has to hide in bushes overnight to wait for an early Greyhound bus to somewhere. There's a young rich couple who find and house him - along with several other similar teen kids. I recall a kid who gets trapped in a alley, beaten and dumped on the pavement and the couple find and rescue him. Any thoughts?
  8. Thanks Benji, I knew someone would be able to point me to the story. I am and I'm not surprised it's by Jack Scribe, formerly because I was sure ti was one of his and browsed through the stories but didn't find it. It was an enjoyable, moving and, at times, disturbing story. I look forward to rereading the trilogy.
  9. Thanks Sharon. I've started on The Partnership and have no recollection of it at all. It appears to have been posted in 2006, but I find it hard to believe that it's more than 6 years since I read the first two David stories. That's ok I suppose, I do like to find new stuff!
  10. Pep, I'm into David's Recovery now and enjoying it immensely. We have snow here (hate the stuff!) and it's a good excuse to sit and read for hours! I'm beginning to wonder if David's Recovery is the story I was searching for a year ago, see thread https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/33624-help-find-a-story/ Looks as if it could be!
  11. Pep, this is the one, thanks. But there's so much of it I don't remember! It doesn't take long to read either, in that there's a lot to skip over as I don't read the lurid sex details - too boring and I have an imagination! Good to find it again.
  12. Pep, I've delved around a couple of chapters and it could be this one. The name 'Paul' rings a bell. I'll look at it more closely when I've fnished my current story. CassieQ, 'fraid not. I re-read Jake's Hand recently and know it isn't that one. Thanks to both of you!
  13. Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't think either of those are what I am looking for.
  14. So,having finished another story I was reading, I got back to this one - and I am amazed! I find I had no recollection whatsoever of chapters 2 - 13. It was a complete blank! Ch 1 must have made quite an impression, as it seemed fairly familiar. Just got to ch 13 and will be interested to see how much I remember from here on. So grateful to sat8997 for pointing me to it
  15. Looks like it. Thanks very much!
  16. No, erotic themes are fine, but I usually skip detailed sex descriptions. I don't read stories to 'get off', got a man to do that with!
  17. This is probably my third trawl through the GA stories, trying to find one I haven't read before. One of the reasons for that is that I hate waiting for instalments so only look at completed stories. This one has been complete for over two years so how have I missed it before ??? Maybe it was for the same reason I nearly didn't start it this time, thinking it was just another teen-boys-at-school story. How wrong was that !! And what a gem and emotional rollercoaster I would have missed !! I have just finished ch 26 and am stunned by the events of Sam's life and the way it has been spread out before us. Two realisations have ht me: one is that as soon as I finish it, I have to read it again, much more carefully, and the other is that the years of misery I endured in marriage to a woman are but nothing compared to Sam's experiences. I am so glad I found ISWB.
  18. Thanks Gene for recommending Pertinax Carrus. I'm a fair way through Dermot and lovng it! Glad to see there's a Dermot 2 and such a l-o-o-o-n-g Bryce!
  19. Thanks People. Love Turns the Page has, think, been published so is no longer available on the 'net - shame! Working it Out, I've read at least three times; Beloved, I'm waiting untl it's finished, I hate waiting for parts to be posted. Sequoyah, I've read at least three times too. Pertinax Carrus, as far as I can see, has written just the one story, which i will look at, and Tyler Adams looks interesting. I can refind the others I mentioned by starting a new search from the begnning of the authors list; it's time-consuming nut worth it.
  20. I would have to admit that I might not have the confidence to edit in the way that I think Louis and MikeL are suggesting, ie. changing the script because it may be poor; I can correct the grammar and I can spell, those are the sort of errors that annoy me. I've just read a page where six, quite short conversational sentences begin with 'Hey' - come on, there are other ways to begin a comment! I suppose being English as opposed to American doesn't help; my friends and acquaintances don't talk in that style. One comment to HH5:I am fairly new to this website and often it seems very difficult to contact the writer. Another point in general is that I am fairly impatient and don't like waiting for the next chapter so I only read stories that are complete; is there much point in offering to edit a completed story?
  21. Yes, thought it would be a little vague. Trouble is, I found it via a link from a link. Would love to find it again, it was very good story. I can think of two or three more found like that and have no idea what they were called or who wrote them. Nowadays I keep a good-stories file ...
  22. Great story Shadowgod. I'm on my second time around with this one. But, sorry Viv, the editing leaves a lot to be desired ... it's such a shame when a really good story has so many errors in it.
  23. Sorry, haven't looked in here for ages. It was definitely a free one, well, it was when I read it.
  24. Hi I'm reading this for the first time and I've just got to chapter 6. So far, I'm loving the story - how can anyone not love a puppy anyway ??? But, I think I'm just about to not like Christian very much. This is one to add to the list of Good Stories to Come Back to and Read Again. Thank you Renee!
