  1. When Zach first entered my mind for the story, I was a bit worried about how to portray him. I wanted him to be believable, cute, and adorable, but I was worried that he just wouldn't work. He's turned out FAR better than I expected, and I love writing the little scenes where he gets words turned around!
  2. You're very welcome! Thank you for the review!

    Chapter 25

Thursday morning, I awoke to the sensation of being enrobed in warmth. After a moment, I realized at some point in the night, Noah had spooned up behind me, his arms pulling me tightly against his body. His warmth radiated from underneath his clothes, through mine, and straight into my soul. I could feel his morning wood pressing through his shorts and nestled firmly between my ass cheeks. Suddenly, I was hornier than I could remember being in a long time. It took all my will power not to thrust
  4. Thank you so much, Mike! To me, the important part was that he wasn't looking for anything, nor did he want anything. It just kinda happened. In my experience, all of my successful relationships of any magnitude were like that. Whenever I was actively looking for someone, the relationship crashed and burned spectacularly! I've gotten very mixed messages ranging on the amount of time between relationship for Scott ranging from 'he needs to get over himself and find a new fucktoy' to 'it was no where near enough time'. Each person is different, and there's no pleasing everyone! And as always, it's good to hear from you!
  5. Not having kids, I'd think YouTube would be a great way to distract and entertain kids (with heavy supervision). There's so many cute and funny videos. The only place I get as easily lost in the links as YouTube is Wikipedia! Hope the power doesn't stay out too long! Stay warm!!
  6. My first conscious thought Wednesday morning was that I was experiencing my first earthquake. It took a moment for my panicking brain to realize it was merely Zach jumping up and down on the bed. Exhaustion from the two consecutive late nights had taken their toll, and I was barely able to react at first. Zach immediately sat on my chest and began shaking my shoulders. "Scott, are you awake?" he asked me a few times, before putting his mouth right next to my ear and repeating it again. Loudly.
  7. Thank you so much! I hope the writer's block is fleeting as well. Fortunately, the muses have already given me enough that the story is all outlined, but I still have to get them to cooperate enough to get it flushed out!! It doesn't help that the first encounter with Zach was so dramatically altered from my original plan that my outline is pretty much out the window until after the custody hearing, but still... (also the unplanned addition of arson means that there is no bail hearing. It's a shame, but it is what it is lol) I'm going to stop rambling here because I'm extremely tired at the moment, but wanted to respond before I forgot) Thanks again!!
  8. Sarah's entrance into the living room was nothing short of dramatic. She almost danced around the room in excitement. I watched Sarah's manic behavior for a moment with amusement. Even Zach was enthralled by her display. "I take it your shopping spree went well?" I asked, surprised by the level of excitement she was giving off. "What? Oh yeah, we went shopping. It was fine enough, I guess, but that's not why I'm so excited." "So why are you so excited?" "Because I have the greatest news,
  9. That's actually probably the biggest reason I included them! I was browsing a couple electronic stores' websites for ideas for the chapter and stumbled upon them. Basically, they're the new shiny toy - super fast and very high capacity and fairly expensive. Just don't ask me for technical details because I have NO idea! Noah's concern is a fair one - especially in a new relationship. His problem in the previous chapter was that Scott was purchasing everything without even paying attention to Noah's desire to contribute. Here, Scott didn't even attempt to help with the laptop, despite the price, and he laid out a solid argument why he should be the one to buy a new car. To me at least, that helps reduce that feeling of not contributing. Once they have a routine established, I'm sure that they will settle into roles in the relationship where they both clearly contribute equally in their own way.
  10. For the second morning in a row, I woke up Monday morning feeling incomplete. Like Saturday night, it seemed like I had slept well throughout the night, but I just didn't feel rested. The only reason that I could think of was that the bed that had once given me so much comfort just felt too empty. That's not to say that I was quite ready to sleep with Noah, but I recalled how he said he wouldn't feel comfortable sharing the same bed with me that I once shared with Steve. It was the place where
  11. Basically, Will finally got his head out of his ass for a moment, and realized all the hurt he's caused. Noah's too laid-back about life in general to let it completely ruin his friendship, but Will's definitely strained it almost to the breaking point! Hopefully they'll be able to regain the bond they used to have! Both are really lucky to have found each other. They compliment each other's personalities excellently, and Scott's already proven that he's quite the excellent daddy Happy holidays to you and your friends and family as well Chapter 22 will be out shortly after the New Year!

    Our First Christmas

I know what you mean with traditions. My in-laws have started opening presents similarly to my family's methods, although they were REALLY confused when I was just watching them open presents the first few times. They were actually concerned that I thought I hadn't gotten enough gifts or something! Now, they enjoy that it's just extra family time. Traditions change and grow over time as the needs of the family changes. Our dinner Christmas Eve is ALWAYS beef fondue, and has been before my brother and I were old enough to be trusted with the boiling oil. Last Christmas was the first time that my new sister-in-law was present, and she's a vegetarian. It was never brought up, but we had a very nice cheese fondue instead. I'm glad you enjoyed the gift. This was supposed to be the last time I visited Scott and Steve's relationship, but the last time I claimed that was Tuesday, and I'm already beginning to have serious doubts that this will be the last time that Steve has a leading role in one of my stories. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well
  13. This has been Will's motivations the entire time. He is sorry, but he was sorry for his previous actions, and that hadn't stopped him from continuing to be a jackass. Hopefully this time, he'll prove with his actions that he actually is remorseful! Glad you enjoyed the chapter, and I'll get the next chapter up in the beginning of January!
  14. Among the four adults, we quickly made a plan of attack for the rest of the day. Tom and I would go through Steve's office and remove the furniture so that it could become Zach's permanent bedroom. Noah would rent a small truck and start packing up his apartment, and I would join him when I had finished. Sarah had the job we all wanted. She was forced to spend the rest of the afternoon playing with Zach. I kissed Noah goodbye, and he left to take care of his tasks – only after repeatedly reass
  15. Set in 2003, Scott is about to spend his first Christmas with his boyfriend. This story features characters from my ongoing series 'Moving On', but takes place eight years before the series begins. Prior reading of 'Moving On' is not required.
  16. I was having the most wonderful dream. I can't recall all of the details, but I was floating through the air. Suddenly, I was awash in the most glorious sensations emanating from my groin. As suddenly as it appeared, the feelings disappeared. "Scott, wake up," I heard a familiar voice tell me. I knew who was speaking; I just hadn't quite made the connection yet. Before I could, the sensations returned in full force. I felt myself strain against the mattress as I became more aware of my surroun
  17. Physician, heal thyself! For a psychologist, Will is completely unable to work through issues of his own. You may be right, but you'll have to keep reading! Thanks for the comment!!

    Chapter 20 - Trust

Ugh...Originally he did, but I had a note at the references to it in case I took it out. Apparently, I only took out the note. Thanks!!

    Chapter 20 - Trust

As far as I understand it, it'd primarily be up to the courts, but remember that Officer Martin is about two hours away from the gang. and there's a lot to him that you haven't gotten to know yet. I'm really struggling to drop any hints that don't reveal too much!! And yes, Willow is the scum of the earth. Thanks for the review!

    Chapter 20 - Trust

Thanks so much! Zach's been through so much. Fortunately, he's young enough that he doesn't quite understand the implications of what he has seen. As far as the cops go, you'll just have to wait and see. *evil-laugh*

    Chapter 20 - Trust

In the morning, I awoke feeling rested, yet slightly stiff, and I realized that I must have tossed and turned throughout the night. That was something that was new, but I didn't really allow myself to dwell on it. There was so much that needed to happen today that I wondered if we'd get through it all. I got dressed, stepped outside the bedroom and suddenly remembered Zach's clothes were still in the dryer. As if on cue, a nearly naked four-year-old ran out of the bedroom next to mine. He stil
  22. I'm glad you're enjoying it! I assume you meant 'Noah and Scott' instead of 'Zach' there, since Zach is Noah's son, but the dynamics of exploring a new relationship with the added pressure of also being thrust in a parental role may prove difficult. If you intended it as written, it also holds true. So far, Zach has completely accepted Scott as something of a second father, but that connection may not hold all the time. Of course, Scott has grown a lot in the last chapter, and has begun to realize that the relationship isn't just one-sided. From my personal experience, in a long-term relationship, you develop a sense of mutual understanding and have no problem acting without necessarily informing the other person at all times. Scott's waking up to the fact he hasn't gotten to that point yet with Noah. As for Will, only time will tell. He's been the most difficult character for me to write because I know exactly what has actually transpired that caused him to act this way. Sorry for being vague in my statements. I've written through chapter 23, and have the entire story more or less outlined (It was completely outlined, until the story changed completely to make how Noah and Scott gained custody of Zach more dramatic and I'm still trying to get back on the timeline that I'm bound to for many reasons!) Anyway, enough rambling from me! Thanks for your response!
  23. Naw, then it'll become 'whatever' with an indignant roll of the eyes! Scott is beginning to realize that he's in a relationship and he has to defer to his partner more. Even Scott didn't REALLY think they were ready for that step. He's new to dating again, and his only actual relationship was with Steve. He's still a little caught up on what the other person might be 'expecting'. Of course, dating with a four-year-old presents it's own problems, but there's still Tom and Sarah to keep an eye on him! As always, thanks for the feedback!
  24. Wow...I'll admit that it's a garbled mess of pronouns! The story is written (almost exclusively) in First Person. I try to limit everything to Scott's immediate perspective, but he's recording this after the fact (which will be explained eventually...even the narrative style has a backstory!) Glad you're enjoying it, and thanks for the feedback!
  25. Scott's the type he'd MEAN to read up on it, but then figure out that experience is the best method. He just has a knack for communicating with people, and just realized he had to simplify things for Zach to understand! On the other hand, Steve would've committed every single parenting handbook ever written to memory and then tried to apply all his new knowledge, only to learn the hard way! (If you remember, his twin was actually READING the song list at karaoke!) Scott's showing some growth, although mostly as an afterthought. He's reaching out more and more to allow Noah to take a more active role in their relationship and realizing that he can't be Superman!
