  1. When new recruit David Ford joins the Life's Pride as an apprentice under withdrawn engineer James Teegan, neither have any idea of where their working partnership will go.
  2. Chapter 2 - Routines The frantic beeping of David's comm-dev woke him for the umpteenth time of his first week aboard the Life's Pride. By now he knew not to grumble or attempt to shut out the sound as he had done the first few times, raising James’s ire. Instead he merely slid out of bed and tapped the button on the device to inform his boss that he was indeed now awake. He was already dressed as he had learnt that taking the time to put clothes on was not acceptable, and it was sleep clot
  3. James Teegan awoke slowly in his bunk aboard the Life's Pride, an Explorer class starship bound for Europa Station. He unwrapped himself from the thin blanket that was partially covering his semi-clothed form. It took a while, as he'd thrashed around a bit in the night and tangled himself in it. Eventually freeing himself, the twenty-two year old engineer swung his legs over the side of the bunk and silently dropped the short distance from his upper level bunk to the floor, bending his knees to
  4. Just had a huge fight with the entry form to allow me to update chapter 1. If you'd already read it before this post, please look again, the edit should have held this time, sorry about this.
  5. After two years, chapter two has been released, as well as a major update to chapter one. Any constructive criticism welcomed either here or in PMs
  6. So whereabouts in the UK you headed CJ?
  7. Good point. However, it's also an indicator of fantastic writing, so I forgive it
  8. Loving the story as ever. It's really great to be reading the same idea as the others, but from a different perspective. Especially with the way that in the last three we've got to see Brian's reaction each time, but I love how Davey's reaction is very different. Loving looking at Davey from Brian's perspective as well, really learning a lot more about the two of them that I hadn't in the past three stories. One thing that worries me a little is that last paragraph. That seems like an indicator of bad things to come...
  9. Hehe, thanks See, in the end, I really don't care if I'm right or wrong, because the story is just so damned good Making us wait till Tuesday though... I think that makes you evil.
  10. Loved the chapter. And HAH! I was right! Woo!
  11. See. I think Eric was filming them somehow and has been making money off it by making a porn site. Maybe that's what's on the data stick!
  12. MSN. AIM doesn't work behind my uni firewall. Pen or pencil?
  13. I'm liking this story very much. I love the interaction between Richard, John, and Jasper. I agree with Luc about the speech patterns though, one of the things that bothered me the most was one character saying something about being 'dead wrong', or 'dead right', can't remember which, but that made me go 'Eh?'. I still love the story though, and am looking forward to the next chapters Keep up the good work!
  14. Well, chapter one of my first story can be found here. Any constructive criticism is welcomed, either by posting here or PMing me. More will be written, but being a university student, that work comes first. (Y'know, I've just seen my member number. I hope it's not a sign.)
  15. If he died, the outpouring of grief and rage against the government would be monumental. As the BBC recently pointed out, none of the senior members of the UK government (who were responsible for the decision to go to war) have ever had to experience the worry of a child going into a hostile situation like that. A case in which the royals are more in touch with the people than the government.
  16. Yeah, but you guys get to have someone who makes all the decisions for the Queen and all that (the most recent of whom I believe is Canadian from what I was told when i was out there?). Which is good for you guys, because y'know, I think you'd rather have someone who lives there to tell you what you can and can't do
  17. I'm just so very glad it didn't foam up again like that one year (I forget which...)
