Dealing with characters you don't like
Sasha Distan replied to Sasha Distan's topic in Writer's Circle
See this is my problem. Bay is the main character, i'm not supposed to want to punish him, people are supposed to emapthise with him even when he's being an idiot. Currently though he and Issac are being cute together. -
Aww sweetie, I feel bad for you *hug* But you have the opportunity to cook ridiculously awesome chinese food! that's got to be worth something. My Cris is part chinese and his dad makes like, super good chinese food. we never have take out anymore.

Against all my better judgement, and mostly because Dale was now getting actually worried by my lack of friends, I was now accompanying Zoltan and James, with Sal obviously, down to watch Zoltan’s brother play Murderball. I’d looked up the sport last week after I realised that if I squirmed out of coming to the game then not only was Dale going to be disappointed, but that Zoltan was going to think me even more fucked up than I already was. His comment about me being repressed had gotten me al

I did that to Nanuk, and Jesse...and Tobias and Jahke. some of them went through literal hell to get their happy endings. but Bay...I dunno, he feels different. -

We've all written antagonists, characters whose purpose in fiction is to anger and annoy, to push people's buttons and force your other characters to evolve and move forwards, regardless of whether this happens through discussion or fighting. But has anyone written a main character that they don't like. I refer to my current MC, Bay 'star' of Bad Stereotypes. I love him, he's adorable, but as his story evolves i am starting to dislike him a little bit. Bay has really bad internalised homophobia, and though his progression in the story is natural, i am starting to become angry with him. So has anyone else had a main character that they haven't liked?

Tonight we are in for soup round two Onion, Cider and white truffle oil soup, this one won the recipe race last time. Blend after you add the cream, and sieve for super professional finish. if you have white truffle oil use it... i know, but i don't spend money on alcohol or drugs *shrug* Also Cia your biscotti sound a-mazing. I can i recipe?
