Hi. Thanks for reading! Although it might have seemed as though Chad just popped into all-knowingness with his powers, if you reread the story, I think you'll find that it wasn't quite that sudden. From the beginning of the story, Chad had used his powers numerous times without noticing. All I can say is that Chad’s encounter with the professor did shake him up pretty badly, as he started to stay away from classes and avoiding everyone. That was before even volunteering to run away with Rick. I think that with that happening, the events on the bridge could only become, if anything, a little more believable to him. Even then, on the bridge, he did indicate to Rick that he didn’t understand what was going on. He later visits his friends at the end and implies that they needed to talk because he did not understand all of what had happened before. But perhaps with Chad knowing that they knew everything he went through with Rick, he did feel a little less overwhelmed by it all. In any case, I hope you do stay tuned to what happens next.

I've found this to be true enough in school. Often enough I had to do my homework to become an expert in the field about which I was writing. Not knowing shines through too easily and becoming an expert takes less time than fixing something that just doesn't sound right.
