Lisa really steps up in this book, something I rather like is that Will has brilliant people around him, and they do what they need to do.

Chapter Thirty-seven WORLD END: T-minus 151 days, 23 hours, and 0 minutes Ottawa, Ontario The constitutional crisis exploded with a quiet stroke of a pen. Just after 7:00 AM, the Prime Minister’s gamble paid off: the Governor General signed the necessary order, and Parliament was officially prorogued. The legislative session—and Will Carter’s planned leadership challenge—was frozen for the next three months. The political world was immediately plunged into chaos. The PM had

Chapter 9: The Winter Formal - Hostile Takeover The conversation with Agent Malinsky had died with the flash of the Agridyne agents moving across the dance floor. Alex didn't have time to think; he only had time to move. He spun away from Leo, his Sentry System screaming a thermal proximity warning. He abandoned the elegant walk, transitioning into a fast, purposeful stride that sliced through the crowded floor. He shoved through the exit door, the cool air of the service corridor a w

There should be Carter through Xmas I am setting down the frame work for Watcher's III after that. I am contemplating what comes after that, I have three more Coyote books planned I have two for print books one is complete and is ready for agent submissions The second is getting close to that status. It's been a busy year for me. I am, however, procrastinating like mad today... debating a day off just to recharge batteries, but I like to have something productive for my day. So I will try to get one chapter done of something. Tired is an understatement, fulfilling, but exhausting. I am getting old.

Chapter Thirty-five WORLD END: T-minus 151 days, 23 hours, and 0 minutes 7 Rideau Gate, Ottawa, Ontario William Carter was seated, his hands resting lightly on the arms of the drawing room chair. The immense, shattering reality of the confession did not hit him as a scream, or a wave of physical pain. It hit him as a profound, geometric silence. The world, already filtered by exhaustion and pain, suddenly went still. It was as if a projectionist had stopped the film mid-fram

Had to give our resident Giraffe loving, Half-Australian, pastry chef a fitting match after the whole Kyle thing.

I do enjoy the fact that Alex is genuinely not nearly as smooth as he thinks he is. Brian's going to have to teach him a lesson from the Alec Stoker school of bringing your boyfriend into line.:

Chapter 8: The Christmas Formal The silence in the executive rental was broken only by the rhythmic splash of water from the vast, pristine marble bathroom. The high-stakes surveillance mission of the Christmas Formal was about to begin, and it started, absurdly, with a domestic ritual: getting dressed. Alex, freshly shaved and smelling of expensive cologne, was folding a crisp, white dress shirt on his bed. He was calm, focused, treating the event with the meticulous precision of an op

Depends on how much alike he is with his father.

Chapter Thirty-five WORLD END: T-minus 151 days, 23 hours, and 0 minutes Kingston, Ontario The black Jeep Wrangler was already moving. Andrew had no time to sit and process the devastating truth he had uncovered. He was now racing along the dark highway, heading back to Ottawa with a political time bomb in his mind. He drove with cold, lethal control, every movement of the wheel managed by sheer discipline, his injured side protesting with a constant, dull throb but he d

I don't know if Brian would agree

He is the quintessential Lion in Winter, his eye is on the future, his legacy and his decedents. Tommy is that future, and he views all the boys as his grand-kids, and by extension Will, and Peter. His relationship with Peter, or more specifically Peter's long term friendship with Becky, his daughter goes all the way back to Carter's Recourse. He's been the antagonist of one of the books already, he's been Will's boss in Breach, and now he's a family friend. It's interesting to see his evolution as well over the books.
