  1. You know us writers, 9/10ths crazy 100% caffeinated and mixed with a side order of chapter plans that look like a demented CSIS murder board... But it's why we're loved by our people, they keep us together when we're out of our minds mid book.
  2. Us coffee drinkers need to stick together... too much tea out there. Write man, believe me I have the same thing going on right now. Too many ideas, only so fast I can type.
  3. “And you brought decaf coffee into my childhood,” Sloane deadpanned. “We’ve all got sins to answer for.” I approve this message, I felt it in my soul. You're doing all the work mate, fantastic second chapter. Keep on Keeping on, I am reading on.

    Chapter 7

The book along with the rest of the series is available for purchase here: https://www.lulu.com/search?contributor=Christopher+Lydon&page=1&pageSize=10&adult_audience_rating=00 I will continue to publish this on GA a chapter a day till it is done, then do the other two, but I know how some would like to get it all in.

    Chapter 7

Sorry it was a short chapter, written twenty years ago. But you will.
  6. Us Undecimus Arts Centre – Awace Tau System – Orion Directorate The grand opera house was still. The nervous anticipation rippled through the audience as they eagerly awaited the performance to begin. High in a box set apart for visiting dignitaries, Rikard sat tapping a programme against the upper thigh of his tuxedo trousers. It was rare for the former Chancellor to take time away from the rigors of his plans or maintaining the ruse of the playboy billionaire, but it was also rare th

    Chapter 8

Indeed, it may be. Among so many other literal and figurative uses that make it a near perfect title for the book. Next few chapters should draw Will deeper into the story.

    Chapter 8

I very nearly lost this chapter today. Saved Chapter ten over the Chapter eight original master. >.< Thank you GA for providing a digital back up.

    Chapter 8

Writing this, I am intrigued by Enrico. Unlike Johnson in the previous book, Enrico is far more complex and is giving me a rich character to work with. His bi-sexuality, and fluidity when it comes to that side of him is also engaging for my writing of him.
  10. Canal Street, Manchester, United Kingdom The kaleidoscope of Canal Street at night pulsed with a fierce, defiant energy. Neon signs bled into the damp pavement, reflecting off puddles left by an earlier shower. Laughter, music, and the low thrum of conversation spilled from every open doorway, creating a vibrant, almost overwhelming sensory flood. Couples walked hand-in-hand, groups clustered around outdoor tables, their faces illuminated by phone screens or the glow of string lights. It wa

  12. I have come so far, and yet I do not see an end. I have little choice now but to defy the will of the Chancellor and the Bishops and ensure that my fleet never falls into Kardiac’s hands. -VonGrippen ‘Excalibur’s Log’ R-403 –En-route to Sentinel Station Riley made his way forward to the Raptor’s cockpit, ducking through the rear door and slipping into the gunnery console, taking a draught from his coffee mug, sufficiently Irish-ed up so that it would hide the god awfu

    Chapter 20

It was set in 1995, and Carter's Shadow covers more information on this topic. To the Major there was only the British Army that mattered to him.

    Chapter 7

I like the imagry. Andrew the White Knight, vs Enrico the Black King.
  15. Westminister, London, United Kingdom The London twilight bled through the panoramic windows of the penthouse apartment, casting long, shadows across the sleek, minimalist interior. Enrico stood before the glass, a tumbler of amber liquid in his hand, his gaze sweeping across the glittering expanse of the city below. From this height, the distant thrum of traffic and the faint glow of the urban sprawl felt like a world away, a meticulously constructed backdrop for his thoughts. He’d jus

    Prologue

I am so not getting into that argument again I hope the Welsh-ly inclined will forgive and not come storming over the Dykes to exact revenge on this little West Midland's cottage... I just had the garden done. I don't need Battle Sheep and mad Welshmen over for tea today.
  17. Personally I liked this book, it was a return for Will and a transition from the lost Will we saw in the last two books, to someone who is finally beginning to come into his own. Marc was a character that needed to be there, to give Will a push to come out of his Grey-life and start to shine again.

    Chapter 24

Influenced the situation, I think it was part of the research I was doing at the time. I needed a reason for the second minister to move aside and it made logical sense.
  19. There were celebrations in the streets; Ascension Day was the culmination of a multi-global effort. Biologists and geneticists worked side by side with archaeologists. It was the pinnacle of Imperial science, achieving the impossible. And all the while the Bishops lurked in the shadows, whispering of the divinity of the second coming. -Archduke Francesco ‘The Fall of the Empire’ Karin City – Karin A black flag streamed from the highest tower of the fortress. Chapter 6

Ok, honest view points, it's not too over the top is it? I am trying to keep this as grounded... HA... as grounded as any high stakes Spy thriller can be. I know there is not a lot of Will in this book initially but I will try to work more of him in as the narrative allows. Might do a chapter with him around Chapter eight... Chapter seven is written already so can't there. If you are enjoying things, reviews or recommendations help me a lot. Or feel free to drop me notes into my IM box above, CRITICISMS are also welcome. Feedback is vital in this kind of book, and since I am returning after such a long time away, it would help me refine skills.
  21. Langley, Virginia, United States of America The chosen location for the impending operation was the abandoned docks of Birkenhead, Merseyside, specifically the labyrinthine decay around the old Cammell Laird shipyards. It was a forgotten corner of a once-thriving industrial zone, offering both the necessary isolation for covert action and enough urban sprawl to provide cover. The air in the CIA's secure operations room, deep within Langley, had hummed with a taut energy that mirrored t
  22. There is a reason AIs were never advanced in the Imperial order. That reason is twofold; firstly an AI is a form of life with the potential to exceed man. That in and of itself was heresy against the word of the Bishops’ Order. The second reason was that AIs were supposed to be possessed with a cold, mechanical logic. As was demonstrated with the Excalibur, this was not the case. An AI was susceptible to emotions such as fear, concern, love and hate. Emotions should never control the kind of fir
  23. Canada House, Trafalgar Square, United Kingdom Nestled proudly on the corner of Trafalgar Square, Canada House stood as a bastion of maple and stone amidst London's historic grandeur. An imposing neoclassical facade, a stately counterpoint to the vibrant churn of buses and tourists, it housed a diplomatic gravitas unique a nation built on equality, diplomacy, and fairness. Sunlight, when it broke through the London haze, caught the intricate carvings and the gleam of polished brass on
  24. Beat the drums He comes. He comes. From the Lion’s Pride, They hide. They hide. The sword will fall. They crawl. They crawl. -Aurora Jackson ‘Ballad of the Templar King’ Lex Talionis –Yeji-Sola System The mighty hatch began to unlatch, the unique locking system disengaging as twelve seal bolts hissed and withdrew in sequence, a rush of gasses escaping as the door pushed outwards and split apart, sliding aside, opening on the darkness beyond. First, one green

    Chapter 4

I wanted to show that he is good beyond the MI5 support, that independent he is very capable. I admit this book is difficult to write as I am trying to think ten steps ahead of myself. Challenging in a good way.
