This is the chapter where I found Andrew had evolved the most. He's been building to this kind of man, developing over 9 books into the Dark Sovereign, and while Will stands in the light and does what he does. The story was actually a draft I wrote nearly twenty five years ago. It was what eventually became the Falcon Banner. So it's me picking up a long discarded manuscript and dusting it off... Kind of like brushing off the original script to Star Wars, all concept and idea... and breathinga bit of magic into it to see what it stirs.

I like how they need Kenny. Both of them, they need someone that's going to ground them before they start getting too reckless. I also like Brian, he develops in later chapters into a plucky intern, all heart and cookies.

So when I was living in Kosovo, my Son was living with me. I had a cleaning lady that was tied into the rent for the apartment. She threatened to quit after a week of dealing with Jake's room. I swear it was like he would come home, go into his room and explode. I had only just adopted him, so there was a long period of breaking him of... habits that he'd developed due to the neglect he'd suffered from his parents. Getting him to go to school, studying, cleaning his room, bathing... you know typical young teenage boy stuff that is utterly gross, but habits that easilly set in when no one corrects them. I got there, took a long, long time, but I got there and I swear... I loved him, even through the worst of it... I did...
