Travis is an Alpha, a true alpha. He can do many things even Jon can't, even though Jon is also a true Alpha. Colt is a very special case. His shifts come with strong emotion or else he gets the pain mentioned in the story. Those emotions can trigger a change involuntarily, like when his new bear buddy is being hurt and the guys he doesn't like are around.

Take all the time you need, Bears. That little tidbit should give some insight into how Gene got to be so "Gene." Not that he ever banked on that relationship, but yeah...who wants to piss off someone who makes Jon feel weak?

Answers: 1. Alice is as Alice does. She is a law unto herself...and may or may not have hacked the info. And NO ONE tells Alice what to do. If she feels strongly enough, she'll do it anyway. 2. Torture is frowned upon by the law-abiding citizens of the NALC. Yes, you will find out who wiped things clean. 3. Muahahahaha!

I believe many people will have mixed reactions about this, but I hope to keep everyone surprised.

Meeting the next morning had been nerve fraying madness because I could tell half the Council had been awake all night and the other half were plotting. The worst part was I was among both halves. I wasn't going to let myself get outmaneuvered by a bunch of politicians with fake smiles and even faker scents. I was up all night going over what I was going to be saying should stuff go wrong or worse. Pat and I walked in to see the Council just sitting down, and I could smell the tension in the

Those questions I get a lot. It's pretty much my way of giving myself something to reveal if I ever get around to writing a sequel. A Deus Ex type thing. I could answer, but where's the fun in that? Thanks for taking a chance on this story. If you wanted to read the story that gave me the idea, read Neko series by craftingmom.

Skirmish in the Chambers
Fantasyboy69 commented on Fantasyboy69's story chapter in Skirmish in the Chambers
I try to have a dynamic world. Lycan wolves, bear, tigers are fairly common, all being predatory animals, but what about the "ugly" preds? The bats, reptiles, and getting even into insects? Who says aquatic Lycan wouldn't work? Fight me, it's my world. Imagine cuddling a Lycan Otter or swimming with a Lycan shark. -
Even after very little sleep, Pat and I awoke at 9 am. We grumbled about the early hour, showered together with a little playful groping for added spice, and were dressed by 9:35. A single rap on the door had Aaron joining us, dressed in a black polo with Council Security stitched in silver over his left breast, black cargo pants with who knew what hidden treasures, paratrooper jump boots, and openly carrying a sidearm. I didn't know a Glock from a Sig Sauer, but I knew the ammo would be silver.

That would be too nice for Angus

It's coming along, but it may not be posted for some time. I have so many projects going that choosing which one to work on is daunting.

I've been considering trying to get something published...

This story is the one I work on when I have no other projects. It's my old standby, One I will be adding to when Homestead is done. I have a few others I pick up when I have nothing else, and I may finish up one of those to post while I wait for inspiration to drizzle into my brain.

I did take inspiration from the movie, yes, although I haven't seen it in a long time. And thank you so much! I have a lot of respect for Rob's work, and it brings a light to my eyes to be seen in the same category.

Merci beaucoup. Avoir mon travail comparé à celui de Rob Colton est un immense honneur. Thank you so much. To have my work compared to Rob Colton's is a huge honor.

Some of it is because she rejected him first. He handled it with grace. Could she do any less? She does and always will love Dean, as he always will love her.

Travis is just hot, all the way around, not just as a lawyer.

I can say, with all honesty, that I love my mother...but if I had the chance of getting laid when I was in my 20's, I would disconnect the phone just to make sure she couldn't interrupt.

While I don't do as much research for my stories as some authors, I do try to connect them to real places, real beliefs, real myths. It always made the world more immersive when I read a story that included a place I could physically see or go or could look up myself. Even if my only tool is Google, I try to make the readers from the area of the setting (like placing All That Drama on the campus of my college) smile and say "Hey, I know that place."

someone had asked a similar question about Colton's relationship. Colton is based off a real person, and the Michael character was his boyfriend at the time. They are no longer together and I didn't feel right keeping Colton with Michael, so I put him with Quint and Zeke. It's one of the things I struggled with for a few weeks, but I had laid the foundation in Peace and Quiet with Zeke and Colt having their own connection. It just made sense.

I was in my office with my son. Dylan was bigger than my desk and twice and heavy. A total nerd in his early twenties who stood over seven feet tall. How did he not knock lamps off every time he turned? I always marveled at how big men like him didn't take out walls with a gesture. Uncanny. The phone rang. And I looked at it like it was a snake. That phone had bad news written all over it. That's all I ever got over the phone these days. That and random telemarketers who wanted to either sel

Michael and Ashton won't be returning. The WHY of the abductions, the ones not done by Equis, will be fully explained in the last book. Patience. The answer about Phuong may be told in a short story, although technically they aren't part of Homestead. That didn't stop me with Victoria. Not sure yet. Higher powers...good question. Keep your eyes open during the last book.

Colton is based off a real person and the Michael character was his boyfriend. "Was" being the operative word. I didn't feel right keeping the Michael character with him, so I put Colton with Zeke and Quint

I got a home after three days of poring through and over every report the three packs could produce. Emails, texts, Facebook posts. Anything that would show where and when the people disappeared. GPS on phones helped some, but only for those who had newer ones. All the trails led up to Canada and then disappeared. Strains of "Blame Canada" from South Park ran through my head, which of course was not at all appropriate or adult. Much like the show itself, come to think of it. I wanted to just

I think it will be an obvious surprise. The backstory is going to get worse.

"Jon, you have a call from Salt Lake City," my soon-to-be daughter-in-law told me as she poked her head in my office. I was poring over a few official papers that came in from the North American Lycan Council. They pretty much told me what every alpha knew: The NALC was useless. We all knew it, but this latest thing, a rogue group picking on the smaller packs and the incidents being called "a waste of funds and resources," was nothing we hadn't come to expect from any form of government. The onl
