  1. Apart from the fact this is a story and not a real life retelling, it should be noted that in England and Wales prior to 1967 there was no legal recognition of 'male rape', so definitely not in the modern day sense in the 18th century. In fact males as victims of rape was not recognised until 1994 in England and Wales. Just a hint - for those taking this very seriously as more than just a story set in historical times, do not read The Smell of Apples by Mark Behr, or Alexanders Choice purportedly by Edmund Marlowe (possibly a pseudonym of a pseudonym) or The Second Footman by Jasper Barry.

    I'm bored and curious.

Unless I've already decided to buy a novel, I'll read the last page and a random one from approximately the middle. If they intrigue me, I'll buy the book. I like bittersweet endings on the whole, like The Other Side of Me. I've just finished reading two books by Mark Behr (an SA writer) his books don't have happy endings, but do leave you wishing for one. I recommend The Smell of Apple and Embrace - be warned the second one has great tracts of Afrikaans in it (annoying with no translation) and the subject matter may not sit easily with everybody - both cover in some way budding sexuality and adults versus 11 - 15 year old boys. His greatest strength is that his prose is written as that of a young child - excellent considering the author is in his late 40's

    Happy Sunday

This whole loving thing seems to be rather pointless and a waste of time. Just ignore people, that's what I do. Fortunately I haven't spoken to my brother in over 5 years, and that's just how I like it.
  4. I sincerely hope that isn't a euphemism there or maybe it's my mind......

Hmm, maybe the migraines are a sign of an artist in creative mood - wouldn't be the only artist to suffer that.

    Evil, Fluffy Thing

Consider yourself lucky! I have two felines, one male, one female (oh yes - look at the rear end of said kitten, if it has 3 dots it's male, if 2, it's female, and what no vaccinations????????? the vet would have put everyone straight). The female one luckily weighs only 2.5kgs (about 4lbs or two bags of sugar), Ionce woke up to this small grey animal licking something I'd prefer she didn't - note to all; cats have very rough tongues - there is NO pleasure in being licked by a cat around the nether regions - if you're chipolated I'd imagine it would be even more uncomfortable Fortunately the male cat weighing a ginormous 7.3kgs (about 3 bags of sugar) is only interested in licking my head and leaning against me on hot nights, of course cold nights they are nowhere to be seen. Oh yes, better get the cat spayed if you're keeping her, she'll be in season again once the kittens are weaned or have gone to new homes.
  7. Dom has to look no further than our inspirational group chapter writing of Dennis. Sharon the Head Hittor may be a bit hung up on strange spelling and grammatical flummeries, but just give her a big red pen, and she'll be happy for days. Not sure where I was going with that last sentence, so I'll shut up now (who put the I on the keyboard so close to the U?).

    Boyfriend to Rehome

I'm concerned about NaperVic, he keeps fainting all over the place - perhaps he needs a vics vapour rub. Sits, strokes cats, waits for new reading material, strokes cats, gets clawed.

    I

Well, I'm a 4 or a 4W5 whatever the hell that means! I wonder if this propensity for people to feel they need to pay to get thoughts or advice, is indicative of a culture of either a lack of local support or a case of we're told we are ill so therefore we are. That is ill in a figurative sense. I tend to think back, possibly with rose coloured glasses, that in times of yore when people didn't travel so much and it was the norm for most inhabitants of an area to live and die in the same place, whether we have now lost part of our social fabric/support network. I'm coming here from a British sense of thought, so I'm thinking of areas where families knew each other, fought and laughed with each other, mothers had some of the stress taken from them as gran was always available to take over etc. Just a thought.

    yuck.

Warm honey drink - is soothing to the stomach, the glucose/sucrose is very pyloric friendly. Dry biscuits or dry toast is easy on the digestive system as well.

    um, so...

I enjoyed the story, and although I felt slightly disappointed with the ending, I enjoy stories that have an open ending as as has been mentioned it reflects real life to some extent. My disppointment is due to two things, both reflect on me as the reader rather than you as the author. I feel torn between the two characters, David needing his freedom and the possibility of Oliver shutting himself away, though I suspect if the medical staff were any good, it shouldn't take them long to realise they were trying to treat the wrong person. happy 'n stuff.

Just read 1 Samuel v18 onwards, very carefully, and then put that in other peoples pipes and smoke it, and as probably the obnoxious verses that have been underlined, could all point towards sex for religious purposes rather than for secular love, many people have got hold of the wrong end of the stick, so to speak bodgy

    ha

Well I'm only going to comment on the last paragraph. Some stories that I liked from elsewhere, first a short but unusual storyline. Spider Bait - it's at forbiddenfruitzine.com - The author is female, but she certainly gets inside the body of a man. The second and third are by an author called Kit - a few years old now, they lurk on Nifty somewhere and CRVboy Tapping, and Not Always Easy. And the last one is recent on Nifty in the Bi section, again slightly unusual storyline, nothing extra special until chapter4 in my opinion; Masquerade.

    Announcing this year

Well I manage just fine, without families. I really don't see what the big deal is about people thinking they have to have hordes of people they can't stand, seeing who can get drunk enough to throw up first and make an arse of themselves. Who can eat more than a 3rd world country could imagine ieating in a year and going through the pretence of having purchased something thoughtful, that really no one likes and can't wait to get rid of. If the family is having an argument, spend time by yourself - peace, quiet, catch up on reading or whatever and the biggest bonus of all not seeing anyone else for 3 or four days. Heaven!!! bodgy

    Plagiarism Update

You need to be careful here, that might count as spam, and could get you into more trouble than the recipient in some areas of the world. You also don't know whether that could be the email address of someone quite innocent, who has had their email address 'borrowed' -it is very easy to fake a visible email address as well as to alias one. On the bright side of course, it means that the standard of Doms' writing is good enough to be eligible for copying. bodgy
