  1. Me neither. Maybe I'm missing something important because it seemed like such a filler to me. I was just hoping for some normality because it's so rare that Dan and Vadim are in a different environment. I was so excited especially because it was Dan's home ground, so when it ended up in a kinky group sex I was just, you know, meh. However maybe I'm just missing the bigger picture. I didn't concentrate on the latter part of the chapter too much (and it's been days since I read it). I'm also looking forward to the meeting with Dan's family, and the possible conflicts that may rise. It fascinates me to see Vadim in an environment that is so alien to him. Well everything to do with Vadim continues to fascinate me period.
  2. Yeah suppose you're right. I guess it's just Vadim's personality that gives it a deeper feeling and makes me see more than there really is. I've always seen him so much more interesting than Dan. I thought she was really nice at first, she even hurt herself just so Vadim could leave her... So I was a bit mad when her character was entirely demonized and destroyed afterwards with the baby thing.
  3. Well, have to admit it does make me wonder when you see Vadim struggle with the idea of Dan's "casual sex, no big deal". It also does seem like Vadim was more emotionally responsive to sex with Hooch than Dan has ever been with Jean (and that little moment of insecurity Dan showed reminding that as long as Vadim loves him... was a bit surprising). I'm not sure what to think about it, it's just something my intuition warns me about. However, we'll just have to wait and see. Perhaps it was just Vadim's moment of peace with a younger, not as scarred version of himself, letting himself trust another person without fear, getting in touch with his own past... Ah, I'm rambling. By the way, did you notice this part? I wonder if we are ever gonna hear from her again, remember what Dan did? That would be interesting.
  4. So much sex lately, a bit too much in my opinion! It's cool that they're happy shagging but it gets a bit boring after a while. Ah, it's just that this story is very dear to me, and I wish something happened plot wise again. And I'm not sure what to think of Jean, I guess he's okay with his girlfriend/future wife shagging other men too right? Right? But well, at least Vadim is getting a bit better with his interaction with people.
  5. It's funny how this story wins pretty much all other stories (except a few) online and therefore after reading this most stories are so.... boring and...bad compared to this. That's the bad side.
  6. Yes, I highly recommend this one aswell. It's brilliant.
  7. http://www.aisylum.com/sonnyais/icos/story.html 39 chapters and on going. In the Company of Shadows is a story about two people who are thrown together as partners in a secret agency; their mission is to disband rebels who have propagated in a post-war future, but they have to deal with everything that comes with an unlikely partnership as well. Miscommunication, periods of distance, fleeting smiles and learning to trust someone when a person can't even trust himself, these are what they struggle with while still trying to do their jobs. One is a psychopath, called a murderer and monster and generally deemed subhuman by nearly everyone who knows of him; the other is an introvert, cold and emotionless and so lost in thoughts that he would agree that he can be called a monster of inhumanity. But what makes a person human; is it humanity, compassion, or is it simply the ability to reason? Can a monster be human, and general humanity breed monsters? While they learn about each other, they learn about themselves; where their loyalty and morality lies, and how learning to trust another person can be incredibly difficult, bittersweet, and rewarding all at the same time. Join Hsin Liu Vega (aka "Sin") and Boyd Beaulieu as they struggle to find where they fit in a world slowly recovering from war.
  8. The newest chapter almost broke my heart. Well, not the first time this story has made me cry (or close). I'm sure the authors appreciate feedback, so let them know what you think people, in case you are reading this (which I still strongly recommend).
  9. Thank you! I've been getting into Marquesate and Vashtan's work lately, but haven't known where to find more of military fiction. I will definitely check these ones out. Please, if you have any recommendations about more of stories like these I'd love to know. Especially if there are any long ones around (usually I just can't get myself into stories that are very short) online.
  10. There seems to have been a long update just yesterday! And you're quite right, it definitely is not for the faint hearted, just a warning. Although I hope the story description makes it clear.
  11. Special Forces is a co-authored work of miltary gay erotic fiction by Marquesate and Vashtan. The first of three cycles has been finished: Soldiers, and the authors have been working on the second cycle: Mercenaries. It is the epic story of a Scottish SAS soldier and a Soviet spetsnaz soldier. Two enemies who meet in the line of duty during the early days of the Soviet Union's last war in Afghanistan. Behind enemy lines respect and finally love grow ... but that's only the official version. The reality of these two men is dark, brutal, fuelled by aggression and insane lust. Steeped in pain and killing, with death as their shoulder companion, these Special Forces soldiers meet in 1980. Their intense hatred caused by rape, revenge and torture turning into f**ked-up lust and years of secret encounters in the rat-infested labyrinth of Kabul and the Afghan mountains. Time, despair and desolation smoothing down the sharpness of hatred, its venom drained with each physical encounter, the lust helping to form an understanding that only two men of the same kind can share. Enemy Mine and Brothers in Arms - on two different sides. This novel spans across over thirty years of their lives. It's harsh and violent, but life is cruel and they just do what they need to survive. http://www.marquesate.org/special-forces.html
  12. I don't think this story needs a sequel at all, it was a perfect ending for a perfect story. Twisted, is it wrong it made me giggle in this.. insane way? hehe. One thing I don't get though. How could the doctors not realize it's not David in the hospital if it's Oliver acting like Oliver. David's very intelligent, Oliver's not and therefore can't even try to imitate David. So that one doesn't make much sense. But all in all, I loved this story to death. Dom, you should really try to get this published or something. Don't waste your talent unless you really don't feel like writing anymore.
  13. Plus, I must continue. I've realised there have been some issues that made sense when we all thought Oliver and David were one and the same but do not now that we know they are not. Like how Frank thought Oliver's kissing skills were good and that he must have done that before. So what was that all about? There are more of these things but I can't be arsed to go through all the chapters again. I just feel not all the hints that Oliver and David were one person have been killed. I don't get it.
  14. I gotta admit one thing. I was really disappointed when I realised this story was not about dual personality because it would have been perfect. Interesting as f**K till the end. It's still interesting but I feel the story lost something after David and Olived officially became two separate people. Propably I'm the only one who feels this way but whatever. If there is only one more chapter coming up it must be a long one, so many loose ends. I do love this story, no matter what.
  15. Couldn't have worded it better.
  16. Uhm, I was thinking about the possibility that Oliver won't make it out alive, and to be honest.. Personally, I think it would be too easy way to (put it harshly) get rid of the simpleton and solve Frank's possible conflict between his feelings for Oliver (or at least Oliver's obvious feelings for him) and Oliver's state of mind. Too easy to get away with it, at least if the purpose then is that Frank ends up with David.
  17. There are loads out there but I'm not sure if this is exactly the genre you are looking for (because I'm surprised you feel there are no gay related fantasies out there), so I'm only giving link to one of my favorites. The God Eaters (by Jesse Hajicek) http://chartreuse.studiowhippingboy.com/g_e_index.html A description I took from another site: "Ash and Kieran have almost nothing in common; soft-spoken, shy, pale Ash is almost the complete opposite of tough, cruel, scarred Kieran. But they do have a few things in common: they share the same jail cell, and they're both there for having unnatural talents. Close proximity forces them to have a relationship, but Ash's attraction to Kieran leaves him longing for more. This story is incredible. It's hard to summarize it fully because I don't want to give anything away, but there are several different storylines which seem bizzarely separate until the author weaves them together in a mind-blowing web that will keep you glued to the screen. It has everything you could possibly want: action, adventure, lust, love, guns, magic, bad guys, not-so-bad guys, and best of all sweaty, naked men. The plot is superb, the characters deep and meaningfully real, and best of all there's a sequel in the plans. Everyone cheer!"
  18. Wooo, thanks Dom! Wow, this story has become one of the most depressing ones I've ever read online. I feel so sad right now. But, who still believes Oliver and David are one and the same? It was hard to read because I didn't know whether to try and solve the mystery as the chapter progressed or just go with the flow. So it took ages. There were some really confusing things revealed here, like at first Mary pointing it out to David that David was the one who used the be the good one of the two, the first to walk as a baby and so on. And then David's own memories how Oliver was the one who used to be more intelligent, and also the first to walk. Or maybe I'm just missing something. Anyway, I'm looking forward to other readers' theories.
  19. ^^ I like to put it straight (no pun intended). :2hands:
  20. TOSOM is the best story by Dom, it's a fact and every other opinion is just wrong. So there. I hope Dom uses his ability to write more complex stories in the future too.
  21. But how can we be so sure the killer was indeed Oliver? It could have been let's say Brian who was in panic that Mary was finally going to reveal the secret to everyone, and then after killing her (whatever the circumstances) put Oliver's (or David's) hands around Mary's throat. Maybe (D)Oliver was fainted or something. Argh I don't know. I'm frustrated and I won't even try to figure out the solution, just wait the next chapter. Thank you Dom!
  22. As some of the readers here already said if there is sex in a story (not just this story, but in general) it does not always require full description of body parts and whatnot. If there ever was sex in TOSOM it could be just hints to what might have happened between characters, as this is not a typical relationship story. BUT, you are the writer, and you will write the story the way you feel comfortable, and if that means no sex then it's fine by me. Sex is not the reason why I read this story, although I admit I'm a hopeless romantic and go all "ooh" and "aah" even when Frank and Oliver cuddle
  23. Give him a break. He's a 17 year old (right?) teenager who probably has not much information of split personalities etc, not an adult who is capable of dealing with extremely difficult issues in life immediately after thrown at his face. He needs time.
  24. Brad telling Frank the story behind Oliver and David did indeed seem a little rushed, which is why I don't believe it's the whole truth. I doubt Dom would just put it out in the open like that.
