    Chapter 54

See the comment concerning moms in my response to frosenblum.

    Chapter 54

The Mom in the kitchen was Stephen's mom. When I wrote this chapter I tried to distinguish between the two mom's. I'll need to think of a better way of distinguishing whose mom I'm referring in the story. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

    Chapter 54

Gramps is close to Stephen, his only grandchild. As usual in a marriage you get two for one. I truly believe that Gramps would give Stephen, and indirectly Tim, anything they wanted. He's quite proud of his grandsons.

    Chapter 54

I believe AM's doctor at the hospital feels the same way

    Chapter 54

I'm not sure Mom can handle a visit. Now that Dad knows about the cover up.. Mom might feel she needs to apologize to AM, but that will only remind AM of the cover-up

    Chapter 54

Most professional people that I know have a 'home office' Tim and Stephen's are more like a hobby, particularly Stephen's. If they are like me, I'm on the computer quite a few hours. I get alll of my news from the computer newspaper reports.

    Chapter 54

AM's doctor is concerned about Mom's visit and rightly so.

    I like cliff hangers.

    Chapter 53

Usually Dads are the last to know. In my home, growing up, my mom brought my dad up today after we children went to bed.. As I got older, I would hear their discussions

    Chapter 54

Monday afternoon, I called Ann Marie's doctor. He said that the meeting went well and saw no reason why my dad couldn't visit anytime he wanted. I phoned Dad and told him what Ann Marie's doctor said. He asked about Mom, and I told him he could discuss that with the doctor the next time he was up. Six months after Ann Marie was brought to the university hospital, the doctor agreed that Mom could see Ann Marie. Dad had made several visits, but this would be Mom's first visit. There was one c

    Chapter 53

Mom's visit will be a long way off. Ann Marie's doctor will only let her see AM after he has talked to her and judge when and if mom will see AM

    Chapter 53

You are right and that is exactly what a parent would do, thinking they are protecting the child. Tim recognized a problem and made the right moves. Between you and I, I think Donnie guided Tim

    Chapter 53

However Tim and Stephen have children, you can bet Donnie is watching. Dad definitely needs a shoulder and that shoulder will be Tims.

    Chapter 53

The meeting between Dad and Ann Marie was a necessary step in AM's healing. Dad needed to bond again with his daughter. He must have been confused and after his discussions with Tim, he would naturally want to defend his daughter. He wants to see that AM is getting the care she needs. Seeing her and talking to the doctor is step one in the family healing process.

    Chapter 53

Dad learned about AM's rape. That was the first time. Imagine if you were Dad knowing what happened to your daughter and your wife knew and didn't tell you. I'd be shaken and mad as hell

    Chapter 52

I agree with your statement except it would have been different if Mom wanted to keep it quiet but arranged for Ann Marie to have professional help. I'm sure that every male that Ann Marie sees reminds her of the assault. With professional help, she would be able to deal with the trauma. She will never forget it, but talking it through with a professional, she may be able to accept that she wasn't the cause even though she may have acted in a provocative way.

    Chapter 52

That could be a reason. although I think she hated all men as a result of the rape. It would have been different if she had help from day 1.

    Chapter 52

In some ways I envy Tim and Stephen, two young men who not only love each other but support each other. I think Donnie steered Tim in the right direction when Stephen entered his life.

And like most webs, when they break, and they will break, the results are way worse then before the web was spun.

    Chapter 52

AM is running away from everything that reminds her of the assault. When she has no choice, it is either street of home., she chose home. There she could hide in a room.

    Chapter 52

it is always interesting how we are able to divert attention from ourselves even at the cost of someone else. Man has a devious mind

    Chapter 52

Healing is definitely in Tim's mind but the scars will remain and those will take a long time to heal.

    Chapter 52

Yes and like most webs it doesn't take much to break them.

    Chapter 53

Our life became a routine, except for Friday’s when we visited the hospital and talked to Ann Marie’s doctor. School had started, and Randy was busy with school, farming, and talking to Stephen. I was happy that Randy had bonded with Stephen. I knew he would make a good father to our son, and he also would have made a great teacher, as long as it involved computers. I still believed we would have a son. If Donnie said it, I believed it. Fridays, we met Ann Marie’s doctor for the
