I got a call from the priest at our church and wanted to know if I could arrange to help him in the soup kitchen. I’ve done that before and always volunteered. “Bobby, I have to go to church. Our church operates a soup kitchen and being so cold, we’ll serve a lot of soup. You can stay here if you want or you can come with me.” Bobby elected to come with me. No flames but there are several organizations that do just that, I have several. The one organization that operates pretty much everywhere in the US is Convent House. If you want a list, I have several other organizations that help. Some may remember Boy's Town, they have been around for a very long time. Arriving at home, I noticed Bobby was quiet, as if he was thinking about something, I watched his face for any signs of emotions to get a clue to what he was thinking. “Bobby, bring your new clothes up and I’ll wash them. No, but why would a 9 year old leave on a cold day. If he was going to leave it would have been a better choice of days. I respect your opinion, so don't feel this is a negative response. We are at the discussion point, haven't reached the argumentative state yet.

Bless you, if you are able to provide a loving home for some child. Although my stories have focused on gay boys, there are a lot of children who need a loving home. I pray you will be successful. And if you are lucky, you may find a child who likes anchovies 🙂
