I struggle to see Ned as the 'kid' as he's late 20's and some I know who are the same age are on their third sprog and/or second wife.

I have a question about time. In this, and previous, chapters 'three years' is mentioned but this is 2024 so three years would be 2021 and I thought Yani and Will had not been in each others company for longer given the 45 min war happened under the talking satsuma's first term.

@Topher Lydon Glad you liked it. Renegades, which was co-wrritten with Ed Sheeran, is also good. Written around the time of George Floyd. The MV is great, while the 2023 live version is magnificent. They are a band who generally deliver a positive message in their songs and have become slightly more political recently. I''ve not liked a band as much for decades.

I think Will would work well with Mayor Pete. I imagine that would be an interesting meeting of minds. Sadly I think many voters in the US wouldn't want a gay president about as much as they wanted a black female. Evangelical gun toting Christians have way too much influence. The joy of fiction is that it gives us a different narrative.

Damn the talking satsuma! This was a bleak chapter to read at 5am - not a fun way to start the day and it's way too early for a glass of Red Bank.

Never underestimate a quiet scholar pushed to their limit! Anyone who has watched Weak Hero Class 1 episode one knows what damage can be done with a book and a pen by a pissed off nerd!

Caleb wants to meet with Will to take Abernathy down. That will be an interesting conversation assuming he lives long enough to have it. I hope Andrew hasn't been a good boy and taken his meds.

Peter and Ned meet interesting. Is Peter going to tell Ned who his dad is? Going to be interesting conversations between those two me thinks. Mind Matt could be the one to let it slip. Couple of bits of tidying up. Pete is wearing a t-shirt when pushed out of the chopper but in another paragraph he’s wearing a cashmere sweater before being back in just a t-shirt. In another Ned asks did you arrive on the plane but later says helicopter. When did they swap from the private jet to the chopper. Lastly Ned has his glasses off and back on and then a couple of very short paragraphs later he’s polishing them before putting them back on. He’s not moved from the coffee machine so that seems a little close together.
