Thirdly: Neither Jack nor Alistair were always going to be around to keep Finian safe. The important part is how he copes and deals with this, how he becomes stronger. Alistair is patient and listens to Finian's needs. Being a victim/soiled/no longer a Maiden does NOT define Finian. He is a tough cookie and will, in turn, help ensure that Zirao Zion is purged of as many twisted folk he can, for the sake of other innocents. Poor Synan was used and abused for most of his life, he will help him cope, as well. Finian has many loved ones around him. It most definitely wasn't his fault that he was the target of a foul political play, but he's hardly the type of person that will let such a thing keep him from seeking his own happiness.

The main characters are the crew of 6. The rest are side characters that are either related in some way or another to the crew or wish them ill. Some characters evolve stronger (like Mycha) or weaker (like Rios), or remain steadfast and steady. We chose the crew carefully, there were drafts of characters that we never wrote in...and then there are characters, like Loxias, that always existed but weren't mentioned/didn't come out into the limelight until later on. But, the crew of 6 each have something vital to provide to the story.

I can't answer any of your questions without giving too much away. I can tell you that Robert does cross over. Finian having been kidnapped throws a big wrench in Habby's plans for them to see each other at the moment.

Indeed, it is! Our apologies for the lag in updates. The last semester played a hefty toll on us both. This segment (mostly the upcoming chapter) of this story also required more work than usual (which is how we ended up spinning off into Lust and Propriety so soon, which is turning out way better than we previously thought…we definitely have to finish Lust and Chastity up so that we can get back to those other characters). The point is that we haven’t forgotten any of these stories, it’s just been slow going. And there are definite endings in the works (especially for Lust and Chastity). There also might be a spin-off for Kidnap if I can convince Robin to make it a sequel instead of continuing Kidnap forever, ha ha.
