I don't view it as disrespect, though I can understand your seeing it this way. Hopefully he'll be able to redeem himself further into the story. Unfortunately, Paul would never go with a stranger at a bar - though I appreciate your viewpoint.

Technically - we don't know Paul and Cheryl did anything except hold each other ... except for the conversation between friends the next day at the pool. At any rate, Paul is just "waking up" as it were - who knows to where?
