Thanks man! Yeah, they've both got some issues they need to sort through...

Thanks for commenting! Stuff shouldn't have come out of nowhere. Especially when considering chapter 4 and this chapter together. But we've got a long way to go. So we'll have to see how everything turns out. Take care!

Thanks so much man! And yeah, Ian is just so confused and perplexed by Ollie's behavior. We'll just have to get to the bottom of that whole thing! I can't wait to tie all of this together... It's gonna be fun! I appreciate you man. You encourage me more than you know.

I CAN’T FIND MY KEYS! I was ready for the party tonight. I had taken a nice - and thorough - shower. I made sure my hair looked good and everything. I was wearing my nice Vans, a green shirt that matched my eyes, and slim-fit khakis. Those khakis were my secret weapon. You see, Beyonce-booties run in my family. When I was a kid my grandma used to say that you could have a tea party on my butt. My cousins, my uncles, every guy on my mom’s side has a really round butt… So, let’s just s

Yeah, Ian is walking on a tight rope. Hopefully he doesn't slip! Thanks for commenting!

Thanks buddy. That means a lot.

I guess will have to find out what that whole deal with Trevor was about... Glad you liking the chapter!

“I’m gay.” Damn, it felt good to hear myself say it… Hearing it out loud made it real somehow. “Oh.” Sara responded. Her eyes distant. Her face was stone, almost frozen in time as she considered what I had just told her. Ok, this isn’t the response I was expecting. “Oh?” I parroted. “What do you mean, ‘oh’? Are you mad at me or something?” We were in my bedroom, sitting with our legs dangling over the side of the bed, facing the window. She was somewhere else. Her eye

Let’s just say Ian won’t be too pleased with how he acted during his first meeting with Oliver :-) I suspect he will be analyzing his behavior very critically in the future!

Ian definitely has some serious angst with everything pertaining to Oliver. My thoughts are that he's never really had this experience before. Despite being 17, he's never gone after a boy (or a girl) before... So he's in some ways in an arrested development of sorts. Hopefully as he gets more comfortable around Oliver, he can start to relax and be himself... Time will tell!

Thanks so much! It means more than you know to hear that... Makes all the hours I spent worth it!

Thanks! My goal was to give some detail about the game, without boring you to tears 😂 Thanks for the kind words!

The knight is a tricky little piece… It moves in ways you just aren’t ready for. A queen or a rook can impose their power from afar. They zip around the chessboard quickly. They’re agile. But there’s a catch: Queens and rooks are at their most powerful when the position is open, with lots of space to move around. The fewer pieces there are on the board, the stronger the queen and rook become, since it frees up lanes for them to move freely. Moving a knight around in a wide-open posit

Chapter 3 should be up within the next 24 hours or so!

Thanks for the feedback! I do understand where you are coming from. Unfortunately, I'm a product of my environment, and many of my friends dropped so many f-bombs growing up, that to this day I curse strongly without even thinking about it. Even in my head 😅 But I hear you. I think this chapter had a little more gratuitous cursing than the subsequent ones will. I say that now lol... We'll see. I'll do my best. That is the main reason I put that warning in the book subtext. I knew some people would be uneasy about it. Hopefully you like it as much as I liked writing it! Cheers

🤣 Thanks for letting me know you're enjoying it! I have put so much thought in how to tell a story like this while making people laugh as much as possible. Feels good to know it's working!

Thanks man! It feels great to hear that people are connecting with Ian... Much of my self is wrapped into his character. It feels good to know you can relate!

This is so good man. Pulled me in right from the start. Great work.

I can’t do it… I WON’T do it. Fianchetto’s? Doubled Pawns? Gambits? Initiative? Tempo? Horrified yet? Oh, never fear… It get’s MUCH worse… How about Zugzwang? En Passant? Isolated Queen’s Pawn? Artificial castling? And last but certainly not least: Zwischenzug? For fuck’s sake! And they say waterboarding is torture!? Try this for an hour! I knew this wouldn’t be easy, but holy hell… Learning chess via YouTube was cute for all of 15 minutes. It very soon after star

My goal for this story is at least 20 chapters. There may be more but probably not less.. So it will be a full novel. I'll try to have chapter two out sometime this Sunday. Glad you like it!

I humbly accept the rebuke 😅. Glad you are enjoying it!

My name is Ian Ferri. Ian Wolfgang Ferri, to be exact. I know. What a name. How I got it is mildly interesting. My dad is the son of Italian immigrants, and a first-generation American, born here after his parents moved from southern Italy. His family - mine too, I suppose - is thoroughly Italian, right down to the core. Hence the last name. But my mother is a proud - and beautiful - German woman, and also a first-generation American. She wasn’t about to let her only son get by wi

For Ian Ferri, getting the boy of his dreams required more than dumb luck. It required planning. Preparation. Patience. And a willingness to do whatever necessary, in order to win over a boy he didn't even know. His journey is one of perseverance, courage, and - most of all - love.

Excellent continuation of the story.
