  1. One other thing is that..... I believe that this attack is just a ruse where Briget is trying to get the "other" cartels blamed for the attack.. She has further plans for later... This is just another of her plans to cover her involvement.
  2. There's been a few switches in this chapter but who's to say that Gonzales didn't switch the location twice? I really don't think he's the idiot that Bridget think's he is. I'll say it one more time guys........ THE DOLL will play a part in the end...
  3. Well the honeymoon destination seems to be two places so you may be right there... quote: So now we don’t know where we’re going for either the first or second half of our honeymoon,” Joel replied, with a pout. Plus Jamaica has maybe a clue with a certain island near Moores Pen...
  4. Sorry that last message included my answer on top of the quote from CJ
  5. The only thing that goes against all this is that the Military at GTMO already know that there is a threat situation by a very powerful organisation so naturally they will be on threat alert Interestingly, and perhaps coincidentally, a high speed attack by a large swarm of armed speedboats has been found, per numerous war games, to be an enormous threat to Gitmo and other bases. It's not an easy threat to defend against if they take you by surprise. On the other hand, doing so would provoke an extremely energetic all-out response from the US, and the cartel has been shown to be cautious when it comes to bringing too much attention to itself. Is it something Bridget would try? We don't know. If she did try and struck by surprise, could RPG-armed speedboats race in blast Atlantis to dust before the Base's defenders even got up to speed? It's an interesting tactical puzzle. By doctrine, the forces at any base, in response to in incursive attack, rally at critical base infrastructure (barracks, communication, etc). It takes time to get the defenses up; even a base in a combat zone won't have all that many armed defenders at their posts. As a case in point, the Taliban recently hit the largest base in Afghanistan, breached the perimeter, entered the base, caused the largest US airframe loss since Vietnam, and were only countered by a scratch force of Marines, two of whom died in the fighting. Camp Leatherneck had over 14,000 troops at the time. This happened just a few months ago. How many Taliban attacked the base? 15. They got close by wearing US. Uniforms, then blew their way in with satchel charges and RPGs. The base was taken by surprise, and only that Marine scratch force prevented far greater casualties. Guantanamo is well defended, but nowhere near to the level of Camp Leatherneck. So, could it be done with the capabilities Bridget has shown? She'd just need to have her task force race in, take out Atlantis, and race out, not engage the ground forces. I'd say she'd have a high probability of success if she took them by surprise. So the question is, not can she, but would she?
  6. It's hard to believe that Bridget would even contemplate an attack on a base that has thousands of military and is surrounded by land mines on the interior. She's living in cloud cookoo land....
  7. Thanks for clearing that up CJ As I could only find references to Stacys' death by characters in the story and because of Lisas resemblance to her, I thought that maybe she (Stacy)had somehow faked her death and moved into witness protection or something..... I notice that no mention was made of the doll.. Cheers
  8. Just wondering...... If a character says that another is dead does that nessesarily mean that they are truthfully dead?? or is it only when the narrator says that they are dead???? A couple of thoughts.... Stacy... and Lisas mum?
  9. Arnold also mentions "other" things at his office??? The doll was "a false lead to the tape" but Arnold was anxious that bridget have it and we know by what was said on the tape that his intention was to destroy Bridget
  10. As the Haggis was the clue to find the tape I can't see why Gonzales and Tittle would even bother looking at it again.. as the tape was the goal of the clues. Though it was mentioned that there could be more clues involved... The "Roast" part never made sense, though it may have been Arnold having a dig at Bridget and letting it be known that he wanted her dead . The doll on the other hand is mysterious... (A link to both Arnold and Stacy) Both dead by maybe Bridgets hand... It would seem like justice if something linked to them both had a role in Bridgets ultimate downfall
  11. Yep! it would be great to see Bridget come to a sticky end via Arnolds dead hands... It would certainly add irony to the end of the tale.. The thought of Trevor with the 30-06 is pretty good though as well I recon your ideas about Xavier could be right on the money so yes even though Bridget will get her private army organised, will they be loyal to her or Xavier?? :chris: there could be double double crosses happening in the cartel LOL :vic:
  12. I think it's a good theory but unfortunately, CJ has already let it be known that her (Bridgets) plans of expansion over the next two to three weeks would succeed...... Quote: "By her own estimates, she was already unlikely to be subject to a move against her, and would be completely impervious within two to three weeks. In her darker moments, she feared that she would not have the time she needed, though those fears would prove to be unfounded." It certainly makes the storyline look like Bridget just may come out on top...... I think CJ has some pretty spectacular surprises up his sleeve to get the boys out of what seems like an unwinnable situation
  13. Hmmm doesn't look good for the boys if the doom and gloom prophesies and attitudes of both Gonzales and Frank Tittle come to pass. I somehow think that Bridgets castle will come crashing down in the most unexpected of ways... I looked back at the chapter when Arnolds' message is finally revealed and it's obvious that he hated Bridgets' guts and wanted to "destroy" her. The curious thing on the tape of course is that he wishes that Bridget would get her hands on the DOLL...... I believe Benji mentioned a while back that he thought that the doll might make an appearance........ Maybe it will accomplish Arnolds wish for him...???
  14. True but anythings possible with CJ's counting method.
  15. Bridget is building up her forces....... She had a pretty formidable force to begin with after taking over the operation so why the massive consolidation of might?? Trevor, Shane and the tape are certainly a worry to her but there is something bigger in the background going on.... Our illustrious author has dropped lots of hints that Bridget always has more than one "iron in the fire" and I've always believed that she has an agenda that, though involving the demise of Trevor and his evidence, is mainly concerning her "other" plan..... Nice build up going on here CJ Cheers
  16. Here's an example of aussie justice... http://www.smh.com.au/environment/animals/gary-the-goat-has-his-day-in-court--and-wins-20130123-2d6f3.html We love our goats
  17. The Chilean border is just south of where the boys are and runs roughly east to west along the Beagle channel Very easy for them to get to chilean waters I still think Falklands though
  18. I've been thinking Falklands too but there is an interesting spot in Chile not far from where the boys are... "Cabo des Homos" Um... not sure what the exact translation is....
  19. The Spud is mightier than the sword?????
  20. Basingstoke was an underworld assassin :mace: that Bridget was able to hire through contacts in the cartel. It was he who put Bridget in touch with Gray (who by the way was not happy that his contact information was given out) If Grundig was a cartel mole then why didn't Bridget get him to murder Trevor while he was in Carnarvon??? I'm inclined to agree with MikeL here and say that it is just too implausible that an unknown junior customs officer (not policeman) in an obscure small country town on the isolated Western Australian coast could be coincidentally in situ when Trevor makes landfall after his hectic voyage in the Indian Ocean. I know that there were actually some strange coincidences there eg: His uncle living there etc.... BUT! I think this would be just too many coincidences for it to be believable... Though there has been some drug traffic over the years on the mid west coast it ceratinly hasn't been enough to warrant the underworld having sleeper agents stationed at a place like Carnarvon. I've spent a lot of time there and believe me it's a small place.
  21. Methinks That Bidgets hubris may just be her downfall She thinks that she has it all together and that is the time that she becomes the most vunerable. Doesn't an old proverb say that pride comes before the fall and a haughty spirit before destruction.... Great chapter CJ thnx for the B/day present
  22. "Winks" at Benji.... Now what would make you think that.. :fire: Happy NEW YEAR you guys Hope it's fabulous for all of you
  23. This is the new year goat in sweden: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/74/G%C3%A4vle_Goat_2011.jpg The fire department set it up..... Guess what happens to it?
  24. Chris Jones is right about "some" video recorders/players in Australia but not all..... The NTSC option was not and is still not included in all VHS systems in Australia. I have two older recorders at home that dont have the switch The newer one I have automatically detects whether it's PAL or NTSC.... Benji is certainly anxious to see the 30-60 in action lets hope it gets used on Xavier and his crew
  25. I think Trevor has betrayed both Julie and Bridget... Not that they didn't deserve it... Julie is betrayed by being fooled that the tape was Arnolds when in fact it probably contains the tracking device from Atlantis (the size of a deck of cards) Bridget is betrayed by being lured to Nassau where the police can easily track the "package" and perhaps finally apprehend her. Murphy's Law of course applies to all these speculations and with CJ's tales it often comes into play...
