  1. Myr, You have replied here or by email, Thanks, TSL
  2. First to all of the writers who post here and other sites on the net a Great Big Thank You and a HUG for the entertainment and enjoyment you have provided! I do know how hard it is to write a convincing story. Second to all of the readers out there who have never responded or posted thanks to an author get off your &^%'s and do it now. Our thanks and comments are the only way authors know if they have reached anyone and if people like their stories. I have been guilty of this in the past and have seen authors quit writing due to lack of response from the readers. I have also seen stories continued and changed due to an outpouring of response from readers like you and me. If your excuse is privacy get a Yahoo or MSN email address, but respond to the authors whose stories you enjoy. If there is something you don't like let them know that also, be tactful and tell them why you don't like it. Now on to the Authors again when you ask for readers comments please reply with at least a comment saying thank you for writing, if you get too many replies to respond to at least say thanks in your next chapter or even post an open thank you letter. We readers really do want to know that you received our comments and what you do think about them. If you ask for critical comments than be mature about those you do receive and think about your response don't just send out a knee jerk biting response as I can guarantee you that response will be posted all over the net. I am not saying you have to sugar coat your words but at least thank them for taking their time to read and respond to your story. Please do the authors a huge favor when emailing them please place the title of the story in the subject line. This will help make sure they read the email. Thanks for reading this and thanks again for all the stories and the many hours of enjoyable reading. TSL
  3. And both are on Jamie's site as well, movieguy47, but thanks for the info. Incidentally, if anyone is tempted to read 'Summerfire', personally I'd read as far up to date on 'Just Hit Send' as you can first, because it's a jump into the future from that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for the info guys, I have read "What do I Say" and loved it will checkout "Please Say Something" very soon. BTW "Just Hit Send" Pt4 Ch 10 is up at IOMFATS
  4. Myr, Thanks for responding as to being busy that I understand I am editing five stories, writing poems and trying to write a story as well. And I will have some more reviews for the boards as well shortly. thanks for a great site.
  5. Yes that boy can write and I am glad his readers and IOMFATS were able to get him to come back. He is an extremely talented young man. Dreamchasers takes you on an emotional roller coaster of a ride a very powerful story.

  7. Thanks for making my day Movieguy. I haven't laughed so hard in quite awhile
  8. Thanks for all the kind words, They are greatly appreciated and Myr I think linking it to the Teen Section. I have received several positive reponses to the poem. The best one said I wish I could have said that. If this poems stops even one person I will be extremly happy and greatful. Thanks again Crackerwriter. Thanks Gunrunner for a place to post the rest of my poetry and your kind words as well. I just started writing poetry again after a break of more years than I wish to count. I wrote "The Ones You Left Behind" after hearing several stories from friends about things that had happened to ones they knew. I just had to get my feelings on paper. This poem is something I thought of many times while reading about teens especially gay teens who decided that life wasn't worth living. Hopefully we can change Darkness into Light by reaching a hand out to those who need. Thanks again

  11. See also my thread posted 23rd Oct in the Cafe ! I think it seems there are a number of Graeme stories which are well worth reading. He seems to be an acomplished author. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Graeme is a very accomplished writer who is on a hiatus right now and will be back sometime after the first of the year. I also reccomend reading his letter onThe Mailcrew: Graeme Speaks

  15. Lynne, I don't think anyone thought you didn't love your grandson or that you did not have any sympathy for his family. We all understand what waiting to get treated and cured is like. Especially when you have been under the weather for so long.If anyone gives you grief I'll just stick CW on them. I hope you do get to have your surgery this time and everything goes well. I will be out of town for the Holiday so I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
  16. Keep your chin up Lynne we are all pulling for you.
  17. Pupil Appeals Harry Potter 'Witchcraft' Nov 1, 9:12 AM (ET) JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - A South African schoolboy appealed to education authorities after refusing to answer an exam question on Harry Potter because he believes the best-selling children's books promote witchcraft. Eighteen-year-old John Smit did not answer a comprehension question on a review of one of J.K. Rowling's books on the boy wizard, worth 30 percent of his English exam. "He wouldn't answer it because it supports witchcraft, and we're against witchcraft ... the Bible is against witchcraft," Smit's mother, who did not wish to give her first name, told Reuters. The family has written to provincial director of examinations to complain. Authorities have yet to respond. "I hope they will give him his average mark. This shouldn't happen again," she said. African Christian Democratic Party MP Cheryllyn Dudley said South Africa needed a clear policy to avoid other pupils facing moral dilemmas during exams. "I have read (Harry Potter books), I have researched them thoroughly, and my personal opinion is that they are witchcraft manuals," Dudley told Reuters.
  18. I couldn't find the Poll - There was no mention in the contest topic where it was or to vote  I thought it would be with the contest entries or in "The Lbrary"
  19. Review of New Brother Chapters 1 to 10 Author: Graeme Link: New Brother Corrected URL as of 1/2/07 Story code: TT Short Description: A coming out story with a twist from Australia. Follow Ads, Giant and Stick on a roller caoster adventure of life. Unlike any you may have read. Type of Story: Modern Overall Quality: 10 Erotisicm: N/A Character Development: 10 Strength of Story: 10 This a life story more than a coming out story although that is the basic premise of this story. Graeme has done a job few others have managed the story is based in Australia yet Graeme makes the story eminently readable to even a Yank like me. He explains the difference in terminology simply and efficientl without most readers even noticing. This story is about the main character Ads (Adam) being thrown out of his house when his abusive father found out he was gay. The story doesn't just end there it takes several twists and turns along the way. After being kicked out of his house Ads spends the night with school chums till he is asked to leave as their parents find out why. Ads eventually ends up with Stick (David), Giant (Randy) and his family. When Stick's Family find out why he is there the story really begins. Stick's parent s take Ads in and begin proceedings to become his guardians. Stick is thrown for a total loop upon discovering his best friend is Gay. The story is told from here on from David's point of view. Graeme does an extrodinary job of examining and explaining the turmoil David goes through as he aliniates his best friend his brother and loses his girlfrien over his mixed up feelings. Graeme develops his characters and the story line so well he transports you directly into Ad's world. Chapter Ten is an epilogue for now - hopefully there will be more to this wonderful story. Beware though there is a Major Twist in the story that caught me completly off guard!

  22. What can i say i am a little slow sometimes. I just jump and don't always read the intro.
  23. One of the fastest ways to turn off a reader besides extremely poor writing skill or an extremely poor story is to ask for feedback and never acknowledge it or acknowledge it with a flame. I have written to several authors telling them how much I liked their story and why I liked their story and never received a response! I responded to one author who threatened to quit writing if he didn't receive any repsonses - he also left out his e-mail address in that chapter. He did write another chapter but has never responded! If an Author requests feedback please at least acknowledge the response even if it is as short as this response I received from an author -"thank you for your comments I appreciate that" Too many authors put an e-mail address in a story and ask for feedback I think only because they think it is expected from them. OK I am off my soapbox now. Thanks to all of the hard work all of you authors who respond and especially to Crackerwriter who always responds even when I am driving him crazy
