I feel like I should maybe refrain from explaining things too much, but to reiterate: the rules do claim there's an initiation of the effect that happens when you hold someone's hand, after writing down their name on the list. That's as far as I'll comment for now. (Sorry! haha) As for Ryan... yeah, I wish I could answer the question now as well, but that would definitely give away future story developments. 😂 All I can say is that I hope you stick around to find out!!

Ughhhalsdkfjlaskdjfladsnghhhhhhh, I'm clenching my jaws at how badly I want these two to become happy. 😭😭😭 I appreciate how you continually add depth to Nic and Jake, individually & through juxtaposition. They're like a dog and a cat, and they're both endearing in their own ways. Nic gravitating towards the jumpsuit was a tender moment. I feel it encapsulates alot about him as a character, how he just wants to be free and unconfined. (But we live in a cruel world, and too often people like him are ridiculed as an outcast. 🙁) Jake, on the other hand, seems to struggle with conformity. I appreciated the detail you included about his math skills, and how Jazzy seems to accept that facet of him as a normal part of who he is. In fact, I'm really fascinated with how you've characterized Jake as a person. He seems like a personified Barbie & Ken doll on the surface, and yet underneath that, he struggles with ADHD, has a sister with a history of alcoholism (which I'm glad to see he didn't shame her for), and an emotionally distant father. I always expected Nic to be emotionally complex from the beginning, but with each chapter I'm continually surprised to discover new layers about Jake. ... All that being said: ughhhhasdlkfjaslkdfjasdfsd, I just want him to hurry and escape from Meg to go doodle more raccoons with Nic instead. 😭 (That entire convo between Jake & Meg about his sister made me wince. It was too realistic in a way that made me want to gorge my own eyeballs out.)

Wow, even still 150k is longer than most full-length novels out there! 😂 That volume alone tells me this endeavor must've taken a tremendous amount of dedication. Honestly, the amount of time & care you've put into this story is really shining through! 😊 (I'm on chapter 5 right now but I'm in awe with the story and characters, and the subtly you bring to both with your writing.)
