  1. Interesting article. Though the fact that I have a clockwise whorl and my index finger is decidedly shorter than my ring finger make me doubt their physical observations. As for me sounding gay, I sound nasally at best. And as for being bigger? Thank god no. That's a little too big for me. So ya, I think, as a science nerd, I need to see the numbers and the test groups to actually believe any of this. As for being a different sex? Well, if that were true, how come I had the biggest crush on a straight guy in my class for a year? I'm supposed to be attracted to my own sex, but if I were a different sex it'd be like being attracted to a woman for me. And trust me, he was no woman. Though... I never did end up asking him. Maybe he was. I dunno, my gaydar never has been overly active, though that might be because of my age or the fact that I'm a total prude. From what I can tell, gaydar is just a sensitivity to details that allows certain people to notice things about a person that might make them more inclined to believe the person is gay. I simply have very little attention to detail. Heck, I have a hard time with names. I think it's food for thought, but really sounds just like another 'study' of homosexuality that hasn't produced any real results other than a few interesting tidbits. It also, as Graeme said, did not identify for the possibility of bisexuality, which does exist (as much as people want to refuse it). As for identifying the gay gene, I'm just going to laugh when people realize that, contrary to popular opinion, it isn't pink. What people do with that gene really isn't my care until they start trying to find a cure. Then I join every other stable minded group on how there are quite a few REAL problems that need to be solved before they can start going on their own little petty political ventures. Oh, plus the fact that they aren't even sure it's genetic even now. Nice read, but I think I'll stick to Scientific American for something with a little more substance.
  2. He was kinda shot in the stomach. Not easy to do complex calculations when you have three bullets in your stomach. He probably set it to whatever time he could and then got himself in there as fast as he could so that he didn't die. At least that's what I got from it all. As for my reaction to this chapter... NOT AGAIN! And I thought it wouldn't happen this time. Never underestimate the power of destroying plot devices that were created to lull you in to a false sense of security, aka the jammer, to create an even more interesting plot. -.-;
  3. I really like how it ended. The dream sequence where he guessed how things would happen was kind of scary when I first read it, but then it was made clear it was just a dream. I'm glad that Maya and his mother both understood it in the end, even if the male members of his family weren't quite as ready to accept it. It definitely proved my suspicion though. His mother was only forcing him to marry because she didn't want him to be alone. She didn't care who he spent the rest of his life with, she just wanted to make sure he had someone. And when she found out he had someone, she was simply glad that he had found someone who he loved, even if it wasn't traditional. A truly happy way to end the story. Good job. I can't wait for other stories from yo.
  4. Hehe, I am so glad this is all turning out well. Eric is busted, those two are happy and it seems that all is coming together well. Now all we have to wait for is the eventual bombshell that bigoted pastor is going to drop. I really can't wait to see how this story ends.
  5. Oh thank goodness that it didn't last! The last chapter had a happy ending! However, knowing your stories, there is going to be a twist soon, probably with the government and probably messing with time. However, hopefully it all ends out okay this time instead of nuclear blowout.
  6. The general storytelling seems a bit rushed, but while I normally don't like that, it fits this story. It's really great to see a writer able to adapt a writing style that fits their story so well. The entire thing is moving so quickly as is the entire story. It isn't slow for us and quick for Jay, it's fast for both. I am really enjoying this and can not wait until the fourth chapter. ^.^
  7. I usually hate stories with endings like that, but in that one I think it fit. Jason seems right in that it didn't really matter how it ended. Sometime stories don't need to be set in stone to be really rather nice. So many little side stories that don't really matter in the end, so many little thoughts of "What if?" or "What happens next" that don't need to be explored. It's complexity is somehow reduced to a simple, single moment.
